Pokemon Puzzle League
Review by chillindude829
"Best Puzzle Game I've ever played!"
INTRODUCTION: Okay, so it's the exact same thing as Tetris Attack. But Pokemon Puzzle League for the Nintendo 64 is a fun game that will keep you occupied if you have any interest in puzzle games at all. All you have to do is clear out blocks by connecting 3 or more. With some practice you will be addicted, not only to the endless marathon mode but to the not-so-bad 1 player and the highly replayable 2 player modes (Even if you have no friends with you, there's a computer mode that lets you adjust the difficulty of your computer opponent!).
GAMEPLAY: Difficulty: 8/10
It's not hard when you get used to it, but it's still tough. Getting used to combos and chains will take a while and the 1-player will keep you busy as it gets harder and harder.
GAMEPLAY: Control: 10/10
There's nothing bad to say about the controls. The good parts? Well, for one thing, the controls go perfectly with nothing messing up. And to help that, every time you move, there's a sound so there's no debate whether you moved or not.
AUDIO/VIDEO: Graphics: 7/10
It's not 3D (not even the 3-D mode is really 3-D). The graphics are 2-D, and okay, but not as good as one could've expected from an upgrade from the SNES. The graphics don't really affect the gameplay and you won't really notice.
AUDIO/VIDEO: Sound: 9/10
Whenever you get close to the top, the music changes to a more fast-paced, ''uh-oh'' kind of beat. It's cool and another thing that will slightly effect gameplay is the voice of the Pokemon you are using whenever you get a chain. It changes when you get higher chains but that only helps notify you of how high the chains are (if the little signs don't).
REPLAYABILITY- 10/10
1-player AND Vs. Mode is playable OVER and OVER and OVER. You can play them again and again and not get bored, it's fun and addictive. You will want to get practice, so you won't be bored soon.
TO BUY OR TO RENT? Buy.
I'm not gonna go into one of my ''WHAT ARE YOU THINKING IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS?!'' because it's obvious that buy is my answer. This is even good enough to get an N64 over if you like puzzle games. If you don't have Tetris Attack, this is a MUST. It's pretty cheap, around one third of the regular N64 game cost in most places. If you don't find it then go rent it at LEAST.
