Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six
Review by SolidSnake15
"Tom, stick with the book"
Gameplay: 5/10
The controls are bad; you use the c-buttons to move. I don't know they could have made the analog stick default. Although you get use to the controls after a while, but the use of the analog stick is to look around, but it's very sensitive and moves in all direction with hardly moving the stick. Aiming can be really difficult at times, that is if you don't have auto aim on, which auto aim is the best part of the game. There are three different skill levels, which are all relatively easy. There are only twelve levels, which isn't much of game since it's way too easy. Realism factor is a thumbs up, more like too real. For instance, if you lead you partner into a room and he gets shot at, two shots at his leg and he’s dead. I don't think people die too often from gun wounds in the leg, even with all that armor on him.
Audio/Visuals: 7/10
This is really the only bright spot to the game, even if these are still not that good. The audio part is great, you can give voice command to lead your other squads into the building with real life commands that the counter terrorists do. It is confusing to give the command because if you just call out something they won't come, so you before the mission you adjust it, which although confusing, you'll figure it out later on. The visuals are less than mediocre; the enemies look like stick figures in a way. This could have been improved big time.
Story: 4/10
This is what gets you turned off from playing the game. The basic plot is you’re a part of Rainbow Six, a counter terrorist member who stops terrorists from many buildings, like a bank. I can't tell you the rest because the plot is all revealed at the end of the game. Strange and by the third level you’re confused about what's going on, so you give up. What you really do in the game though is your mission is to capture someone for no reason until the end.
Replayabilty: 2/10
Twelve levels. Not that many with no extras at the end of the game, just playing the game all over again. Not fun. If you do beat it as many times a day, you would beat it about 20 times (not counting when you turn it off due to lack of interest).
Final Analysis:
Don't bother with this game at all. If you want to try this out if your a fan of the PC games, rent it and bring it back in about one hour, you will be done with the game before you know it. This game is supposed to be a simulator of the real forces in America, but perhaps this game is too real.
Final Score: 5/10
Results: Don't bother unless fan of PC series.
