"Command and Conquer- not meant for N64"

Speaking as a fan of Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 and Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge, I have to respectively say that I did not like Command and Conquer for the Nintendo 64. Since other reviewers broke games apart piece by piece, I will also.

GRAPHICS: 1/10

I personally think that the graphics on C&C are WAY too small to be able to tell what you're doing. I found it hard to tell one infantry unit from another and one tank form another. Sure, you could see more stuff with the small screen, but the infantry units were barely visible.

MUSIC/SOUND: 5/10

I liked the hard-rocking music, except it wasn't catchy like RA2 and YR. The sound effects sounded like real wartime midi files.

STORY: N/A

I didn't get far enough into the game to pass judgment on the storyline.

GAMEPLAY: 6/10

Although I have to give Nintendo credit for finding a keystroke for every function of C&C, I still think that Command and Conquer has no place on Nintendo. The controls are a bit confusing, and the manual doesn't explain the exact controls accurately enough.

MISSIONS MODE: (fromwhat I played) 6/10

I didn't play the game long enough to really review the missions in detail, but from what I saw, they were OK. The first mission seems to only involve moving a man around the screen and shooting barely-visible men, however. It'd be nice if we could build a base and attack our enemy with our power, not stealth. But again, I only played about 5% of the missions, and so I can't really review the missions that accurately.

Overall Rating: 3
Like I said, C&C has no place on Nintendo. It was a cool idea, but the screen is too small and the controls are too confusing for me to give it a passing rating. I am a fan of Red Alert 2 and Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge, and I think that if they were ported for the N64, they wouldn't work either. The TV screen is just too small and the Nintendo not powerful enough to accomodate for everything needed to handle a complicated PC game. Again, I think the concept was a good one, but I just don't think that C&C really belongs on a Nintendo.
But don't take my word for it; if you liked the game and want to buy it, go for it. I can't tell you what to buy and what not to buy, I just gave you my opinion. Thanks for reading it.
