"Fun, addictive, arcade style!"

Graphics - 9/10
The graphics are just great. Though it's nothing compared to the Gamecube, it's great for the N64. You have no trouble seeing where the ball is and what's going on around the field. Something that I think is a problem in a lot of football games. The players are well done, you can see each of they're individual actions. The ball doesn't look like it's going through they're hands. They catch the ball, and that is what it looks like.
Sound - 8/10
The sound is great. Knocking over series of players makes a sound like bowling pins are getting hit by a bowling ball. But what gave the sound an eight was the repetitive things that the announcer says. ''He could go all the way!'' is said way to many times. But all of the sound effects are good. I found myself humming the tune of the music at points. The music is definitely the best part of the sound.
Gameplay - 10/10
It's football, but with no limit! You can just jump and smash characters once a play is over. You can smash them ten yards back. Smashing people is one of the fun aspects of the game! You can jump incredibly high, so high that you can jump literally over someone to intercept the ball. And there is no penalty for pass interference. Playing multi player is the best part of the game. Smashing your friends and getting them pissed off is just one fun thing to add to the game. You can also be on your friends team and team up against the computer. It's endless gameplay! And if your bored of all of that, you can do a season. So pretty much, you'll never stop playing this game. When you get bored of it you'll stop playing it, and play it again a week later! It never ends.
Control - 10/10
It's perfect. Z is turbo, A is to pass, and B is jump. It's that simple. You'll get the feeling that if the control was changed, you wouldn't be able to play it properly. So the control is basically just perfect, or at least in my opinion.
Value
If you like football then buy it! If you don't play much football rent it! Either way you'll have loads of fun with NFL Blitz 2001. I played it at first at my friends house, and then bought it. So if you want to be on the safe side, rent it first, then buy it. I liked it, and so will you.
