NBA Hangtime
Review by Blaze gamer
"This game is on fire!"
Yes, yes here I am writing a review for a midway sports game. You know, those crazy games like Blitz, Hitz, and Jam. The ones with the annoying announcers who make fun of the players. Yep this is one of those games.
Gameplay 10- First off I'm going to say if your looking for a good basketball simulation game, you won't find it in this game. This game is pure arcade. Their's no season in this game; so you play until you beat all 29 teams. You can create characters such as wolves, aliens, and clowns in the create-a-player mode. You give the created person his own jersey, attributes, and special moves. After four games you can then give him more attributes.
The court contains two people on each team. During half time you can switch your players. The game moves pretty fast. At first its kind of hard to keep up with. You can perform many crazy dunks, alloys, lay-ups, and more. You can even perform double dunks. The two-player mode is fantastic. You can't stop playing! Oh yea, and you can not only get on fire, but team fire too. Their's even trivia questions at the end of each game. The gameplay is perfect.
Sound 10- The sound is awesome! The game has perfect sound effects such as shoes squeaking, swishes, screams of guys as you push ten 10 feet, and shouts of people yelling like Tarzan when the dunk. Theirs even rap music during half-time, and for once the midway announcer is actually pretty funny! You can even the crowd cheer and boo. The sound is what makes this game come to life.
Graphics 9- A lot of people don't like the graphics because its 16 bit. Who cares? This one of the only basket ball games on Nintendo 64 you can tell who the players are. The dunking affects are out of this world, and the crowd actually gets up and cheers.
Replay 10- The game is addictive. You can't stop playing even when your tired of it. Even when you beat all 29 teams and build your created players attribute you still can't stop. Their some many codes in the game so its impossible to get bored with. You can even play on top of a building!
Final words- Get this game at all cost. This game has to be one of the best basketball games on Nintendo 64. The only thing I didn't like about the game is that that Shaq, Jordan, and Charles Barkley is not in the game. Besides that the game is perfect. Go pick it up 6 bucks.(used)
