Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six
Review by THAguyINgta3
"One Of The Best Games On Nintendo 64"
Rainbow Six is an almost direct port from the PC version of the game. This game is so realistic to real SWAT and such organization's tactics. This is a third person shooter although it lets you switch between third person and first person. This is my favorite game on Nintendo 64. Tom Clancy and Red Storm Entertainment really outdid themselves on this game. The tactical espionage genre will never be the same after witnessing such a masterpiece as Rainbow Six on PC and Nintendo 64 for it is the king of the genre.
Gameplay
There is great a.i. (artificial intelligence) in this game. The enemies have good a.i. and so do your team mates. The controls take a little time to get used to but they are rather good considering the type of game this is. There are lots of guns in this game and they are all very good in comparison to their real life counterparts. There are also explosives such as grenades and flashbangs. There are 3 levels of difficulty that make more hostages and more terrorists as you get to higher difficulties. If you don't have any room on your memory card for Rainbow Six, you can always use a password to get your game back where you were. There are around 12 levels in the game and they are all so fun it is ridiculouse.
Story
The story is pretty good. You are basically a team of special operatives trying to eliminate a terrorist threat and you eliminate terrorists, save hostages, and many other things throughout many different locals.
Audio And Video
The graphics are pretty great for a Nintendo 64 game in my opinion. At times the graphics do get kind of sketchy but it isn't that bad. You can sometimes barely tell. The sound is good too. Ahh the sound of grenade explosions and gun fire. There is nothing like it. When you kill a terrorist, their dead bodies stay on the screen. One bad thing about this game is when you kill someone, they always end up with a puddle of blood around their mid torso instead of just where ever you shoot them which isn't that bad but it could be improved.
Replayability
This game is very replayable. It is just too fun. If you have a friend to play with, you can play co-op which is one of the best qualities of the game. I could just play single player over and over. Yes, it is that fun. If you played it, you would feel the same way also.
To Rent Or To Buy?
I would definitely buy this game. This is a game that made me keep my N64 as long as I did. I had so many great hours of fun on this game and i think you could, too. The multiplayer is amazing. It really requires teamwork. The multiplayer is probably the best part of the game. Well all and all, Rainbow Six is probably the best game out for Nintendo 64. Boys, we are in the presence of greatness. Rainbow Six is a classic.
