WCW Nitro

"They must've been joking!"

WCW Nitro was released after WCW vs. NWO revenge. When I saw the screenshots in a Nintendo Power magazine, I was kinda impressed. I thought this would definately be a worthy title since I liked revenge. The graphics looked good from what I saw in the character select screen. I was a big wrestling fan at the time, so I was kinda anticipating the arrival of this game.

But I was certainly wrong! I rented it from blockbuster and was devastated by how much this game sucked! In my opinion, this is certainly something that is not worth your time! If your a wrestling fan, get some other game of this genre. I'd rather get an outdated game like World Tour than to have something like this! All I did was rent this pathetic excuse for a video game and it was STILL a waste of money!

Sound 3/10

The backcracking sound effect it plays on certain moves and the voice introduction was the only decent sound effect in this game. The rest are pretty much poorly done crowdshouts and poorly done impact sound effects.

Music 2/10

The music was repetitive and annoying. It had very little variety and was just plain horrible.

Graphics 5/10

The graphics in the character select screen are good, but just about everywhere else, they're not that good.

Gameplay 1/10

You can't do anything in this game hardly! In Revenge, you had special moves, turnbuckly special moves, you could do special taunts with the cruiser weights, there were more belts to win, and that should say pretty much all! All you have here is a belt match were you fight ten rounds and the ''belt.'' It could be the World Heavyweight Championship, the US Championship, the TV title, nobody knows..... At least that's all I saw, but I wasn't paying much attention to the details, I was trying NOT to. So if I'm wrong, ignore my little rant.

Controls 1/10

I'm sorry, but I like it to where you press this button to grapple, and then you press another to do a move. I hate the way you have to do moves in this game! If the controller functions appealed to you, then that's fine. I won't think anything less of you.

Overall rating 2/10

If it weren't for the graphics, this game would've been a straight flat out 1 in my opinion. In fact, if I could, I'd give it a 0 if it weren't for the graphics. What am I talking about? I'd go into the negatives!
