"Best Football Game Ever"

I must say, this is one of the funnest sports titles I have ever played. NFL Blitz is an arcade style football game and an extremely good one at that. The NFL Blitz series took off after this game was released. It was a pretty big hit on consoles and in the arcade. In my opinion, this is the best game in the series.

The controls are easy to get used to. You have a button to pass, a button to jump, button for turbo, and a button for stiff arming on offense. On defense, you have a button for turbo and for tackling. The controls have a great set-up.

The gameplay is top notch and the best I have seen in a football game on the Nintendo 64. It is fun because it isn't as realistic as Madden or anything.

All of the teams in the NFL at the time are in the game. If you know what teams hold a grudge or something against each other, this can make the game a lot more fun. Just pick the team you like more and then go at it.

The game wouldn't be what it is today if it weren't for those badass tackles. Imagine this for a moment. ''Terrel Davis soares through the air and catches the ball. He lands in the touchdown thing! Whoo hoo! Look at that victory dance. Whoa. What the hell is that guy doing. Wow-e! Terrel just got tackled and he is flying through the air like a paper airplane. That will teach him to show off.'' Now that is what makes NFL Blitz great.

The multiplayer also makes the game awesome. The games can get pretty intense if you are both good. You will both be trash talking each other and then one will pummel the other into the ground. It is truley a beautiful thing.

The arcade mode just lets you pick a team and then you play another team for one game. The season mode will let you play a season with a team and see if you can win the Super Bowl. Are you up to it? I was.

To add to replay value, you can also design your own plays. This can be fun for a while but next thing you know, your memory card is full to the top with plays. Overall, the gameplay is great.

The graphics are great. All of the teams are sporting their colors. The football fields look good and the team designs in the touchdown area look good. The sound is good too.

To buy or to rent you ask? If you are a fan or football, this is a definite buy.
