Rush 2: Extreme Racing USA

"Probably the best racer I've ever played..."

After playing San Francisco Rush and enjoying it, I picked up this at my local Blockbuster and decided to try it out. I was not disappointed and soon after returning it I found myself asking for a copy for Christmas, and the rest is history.

Gameplay- 9/10

This game is loads of fun without the frustration, as you'll be enjoying playing too much to ever get frustrated. If you do get frustrated playing this game, however, then I suggest that you seek help..immediately. There are so many options such as deaths, fog, mirror track, and wind that this game will be fun no matter what. Not to mention the extra tracks, such as stunt, crash, and halfpipe (crash and halfpipe with deaths on seem nearly impossible to finish). Stunt is truly the funnest of the three as you compete against a friend, or play by yourself, trying to gain the highest score possible doing random tricks off of all sorts of ramps. The controls, however, are where this game lacks. They're not the best in the world, but are in fact a step above the original San Francisco Rush. Great overall.

Audio/Video- 9/10

The sound in this game is just plain awesome. Sounds are crisp and enjoyable and the music is perfect in my honest opinion. This music is only topped by Metroid Prime, Ocarina of Time, and the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. The music is rather relaxing and goes along with the game perfectly. The graphics on the other hand could have been better. Not exactly eye candy, but not bad. Pretty much average. The audio/video is good overall.

Replayability- 10/10

This game honestly never gets boring. My brother and I have been playing this game regularly for the past 3 years, it's just that great. The track options ensure that this game will never get old, especially with deaths on. I've played this game more than anyother that I currently have, and considering my game selection, that's saying a lot. Replayability is what makes this game the gem that it is.

To buy or to rent?- Definately a buy, if not at least a rent. Anyone can enjoy this game, even the Final Fantasy fanboys of the world :).

Overall- 9/10

Great game and possibly the best racer that I have ever played. Without a doubt tops the original. Truly an experience.
