Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six
Review by Daniel
"This game is even more realistic than Goldeneye!"
We all know what Rainbow Six and its sequel Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear is. A shooter that is all about realism. This is a scenario that won't be seen in Rainbow Six: You walk around with your nailgun ready. As you walk around a corner and face an Ogre, the Ogre fires a few shots at you and you now have only 81% health. You shoot it for about 7 seconds and it goes down. As you're hurt, you run for a Medi-Kit and BAM! Your health is now 100% agaín. You run around, repeat, until you reach a warp portal that indicates you've completed the level. No. As I said, Rainbow Six is no game like that. You get killed in one shot ( if it was a good hit, you survive shots in your legs of course, as long as there isn't too many of them ) and so does your enemies. You can't walk past a guard and think "Ehh, I don't have to care about him. He makes no difference, 'cause he's not seeing me." EVERY guard must be killed if you wish to complete the mission. Not even Rare had that in mind when they made Goldeneye 007. Love the level design! The levels are just so pleasing! Damn!
Some unexperienced might think "Darn! This guy moves way too slow!", but it would be really unprofessional to just run into all the rooms as fast as you can. As I said, this game is R-E-A-L-I-S-T-I-C.
What makes it worse than Goldeneye 007 then? Actually, I have no idea. Or maybe if you put it this way, it's not Rainbow Six that is worse than Goldeneye, it's Goldeneye that's better than Rainbow Six. So you should really buy it if you like realistic shooters and already have Goldeneye 007
