Introduction
Mario Party 2 is an ''E'' rated game for the Nintendo 64. It is in the Party section, and is a sequel of Mario Party 1, with new mini-games, old ones, new boards, and always, a whole new game. This game also is 1-4 players.
Story
One time, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi created a new land called Mario Land. Everybody agreed of the name, but Wario came along and didn't like the name. So he decided to call it Wario Land. Everybody except Peach argued, and then thought of another name. She wanted to call it Peach Land to break up the fight, but everybody fainted and still kept complaining. Somewhere in the ''No Name'' Land, Bowser was attacking this land. A normal Koopa Troopa saw what was going on with him, and went to warn the gang, but they were still complaining on what the land was going to be named. Toad broke up the arguement, and said whoever defeats Bowser is the Super Star and can name this land. They stopped complaining, and went to find Bowser.
Gameplay: 10/10
First, you play the boards. Then you unlock new mini-games and make a whole new world. In these game boards, you see many things, and stuff could entertain you, as you try to name this land. To make this more fun, it can play up to 4 human players, so if you're playing by yourself, it's pretty boring, but the more human characters you have, the more fun you are going to have. On each board, every space counts, something good or bad could happen to you, or you can try to backfire someone, which makes them feel bad of needing to rolling just one more bigger number on the dice block. Item Shops, Toad spaces, Baby Bowser spaces, Chance Time, and much more.
Controls: 6/10
Timing and speed wins in Mario Party 2, which could tire you out and do worse than you did last time. In Mario Party 1, there was a lot of control stick spinning to do and caused me hand problems, but that is not here.
Sound/Music: 10/10
Both sound effects and music impress me, and I love some of the music here. Sometimes I get a laugh out of the character's voices sometimes, and does very well for a party game, as most parties have popular music. But Peach's voice is annoying, and she is my favorite character too. :( Also, in the music, I love the music of Horror Land and many of the Mini Game Coaster Worlds.
Replayability: 10/10
This game is worth playing again, since you can try different boards, different computer skill levels, unlock some other stuff, earn more coins so you can purchase mini-games, invite people over so you can play, and much more. Personally, I don't know how long it took me to finish the game, but these are game boards, and your finishing time is unknown.
Graphics: 10/10
These graphics are much better than the ones in Mario Party 1. You can see stuff good, colorful areas in every place, and much more to see that makes a good game. Also, the characters have been designed very well, and so have the boards. Also, I do like the backgrounds of the Mini Game Coaster.
Rent or Buy?
Buy this game, you'll love it. If you've played the first Mario Party, you'll love this game. If your birthday or Christmas is coming up and you like this game, ask for it! If you liked it after you rented it (if you ever rented it), buy it!
Overall: 10/10
Mario Party 2 is one of my favorite games on the Nintendo 64. Good music, strong graphics, neat game play, buy controls that wear you out.
