"A Good Sequel, but is is Perfect?"

Mario Party 2 is the sequel of the best Party Game ever, Mario Party. But... is it a good sequel or is it not as good? Read this Review if you want my opinion...

Story: 9/10
Another whacky Mario Party story; the cast is fighting for a Theme Park because they want it to have their names on it. Then Bowser comes to put a stop to it and control it himself! So the cast begins another Mario Party Adventure...
The Story in my opinion is a good one and the idea of going on an adventure in a Party Game style is kind of cool.

GamePlay: 10/10
The Party Game Controls may be simple; but playing the game is a whole different story. Story mode: No other players; take on the adventure maps by yourself and slightly harder comps than usual, but you'll get used to that quickly. Multiplayer: Adventure, only with more human players and you can choose any level to have some Party-Crashing fun! And I have to admit that the costumes the characters use depending on what level it is are kind of cool! The Minigames: There are thousands of them and they are all great! You never know what the Question Marks are untilk you play them for the first time, and when you unlock them all you can go to the Minigame Library and play them again and again and again...

Graphics: 9/10
The Nintendo 64 graphics suck compared to GameCube now, but I'm going to go in the N64 way and just rate it like a normal person. The Graphics for this game are wonderful, it makes the Characters look good withg their costumes, and I can say that the character graphics are better than the first Mario Party.

Music: 10/10
The music for Mario Party 2 is cool; all of the level's music are great to listen too and the other kinds are all good.

Sound: 10/10
The sound for this game has all the basic sounds... the noises as you walk on spaces, the movement, and, of course, the music, which I already rated. The sound for Mario Party 2 has nothing wrong with it; it has normal sound effects just like other games; but I do wish the characters don't make those weird noises somethimes when they talk, like Toad and Yoshi (Boy, he sounds like a whistle) and Thwomp and those other things.

Replay Value: 10/10
After you beat the game; it doesn't matter! There are three modes and you can play them all and not get tired of it! And you can play nonstop Multiplayer, but of cource that might be just to unlock minigames, in which I don't blame you...

Overall: 10/10
Now, on to the first question: Is this the perfect Sequel? My answer is: Yes. It may not be that much better, but it is improved in several ways. It may be a little late to give this review, but I have played it and it is GREAT!

Buy or Rent?
It's probably not in stock anymore unless there's an old games place but I'll just answer the question anyway: Buy this game. Its the only Party Game there is on N64 (Except for those Ripoffs on GCN) and you'll love it!
