Nagano Winter Olympics '98
Review by DarkLink89
"A new meaning for Frustration."
Nagano Winter's Olympics is actually a 12-games in a package. You get to play from a lot of events including snowboarding and skiing but the problem is that none of those events are fun to play. Some are way too hard while others too confusing. Want to know why this game is not worth your cash, then read the review.
Graphics 4/10
I don't know how can I describe the graphics for you because some events have better graphics than other. An example of the bad graphics is in the Luge event. The graphics are blocky, there isn't any real design to the event and sometimes they will look like you hit a wall and you will think that you will get stuck in it. Ice Skating is one of the events with the decent visuals. The stadium looks well designed and the ice looks quite real. The only major part in this game.
Sound 3/10
There really isn't ay sound in this game. The only thing I heard in the whole game was the announcer speaking that in my opinion sounds really good in this game. Sometimes you will get to heard a person grunting and you falling in the snow. The problem is that they don't sound like in the real world. The music isn't very catchy and sometimes it will get to annoying you might want to play with the volume turned down.
Gameplay 3/10
The game is about collecting medals in the different sport events but the problem with that objective is that is darn to hard or is very confusing winning an event. The controls mainly involves tapping a button so you don't get to use the control stick a lot. Like the graphics, there are two types of controls, confusing and decent. An example of the bad controls can be found in the aerials event. At the start you will get to choose some advance tricks from a list, the problem with this event is that you don't do any of those moves. You only get to do two things, give power to your trick and landing. Sometimes the controls are easy to pick up like in the snowboarding event. you get to choose some advance tricks from a list just like the aerials event but the difference is that when you're playing they show you a screen with the buttons you have to press down. Some times that get's to addictive that you will keep playing it until you get a medal.
Replay 2/10
The only reason I will want to replay this game is to try to get a medal in each event, but that's all. There aren't any unlockables so why would you want to go to all that time again just to get nothing.
Overall Score 3/10
You will only get one thing in this game and is frustration. The controls are hard and the graphics looks really bad. Save the cash and buy Nintendo's 1080 Snowboarding instead.
