Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Review by Andy007
"Excellent 2-D Battling"
Gameplay 9/10: Mortal Kombat Trilogy is certainly my favorite MK game of all the Mortal Kombats! Why? This game contains many different players you can select to fight as and they have different moves. There are many stages you can fight on. Also, the one player mode challenge is awesome, fight your way up to Shao Kahn! The fighting is all brutal, but it isn't as hyper as those Street Fighter games with 30 hit combos. MK Trilogy has little tournaments like in other fighting games. This is a good fighting game, especially if you play against your friends.
Audio 6/10: The sound is probably the worst thing in this game. The screaming of the fighters in this game sound almost fake. Shao Kahn's taunt is stupid and the stage music sucks. That's all for this section.
Graphics 8/10: This game has excellent 2-D graphics. But it gets an 8 because it isn't realistic fighting like in real life. MK4 has better fighting because you can dodge hits by moving to the side. This game is kind of old now, and like other old fighting games, they fight in a 2-D environment. The characters look pretty much like people though. So graphics in this game aren't that bad, the graphics are not blurry, they are clear.
Story 7/10: I never did like the story of MK1, MK2, and MK3. MK Trilogy has almost the same story. This game's story isn't that great, one of those ''fighting against a powerful force'' stories. But the story just sets up why they fight and this is how the game is a fighting game.
Overall 8/10: Ok, this game may be cheap by now, since no more MK games have come out for N64 in a long time. This game is old, but still fun and I would buy it if it was $30. I have UMK3 for SNES which is almost like MK Trilogy, so I know how MK Trilogy is like. I've also played MK Trilogy a lot at my friend's house, so I know a lot about this game. This game is good in every category. I don't think you'll really stop playing this game, if you have stopped playing this game, you'll come back one day interested again.
