Mega Man 64
Review by All is Fair in Love and War
"Mega Man has Lost his Touch"
Introduction
This is the only Mega Man game for the Nintendo 64, and it is extremely boring. Mega Man is supposed to be that blue bomber we all know and love, right? Well, in this review we will look at how that is no longer true. Mega Man was the king of bombing, but now he is the queen of bombing. Bomberman was the queen of bombing, but now he is the king of bombing.
Game Play 2/10
This video game is easy, easy, easy, it is much too easy to play and be satisfied with playing it. I am amazed at how easy the makers of the video game made it. This just does not make sense. I do not see why anyone would like to play a video game this easy. A newborn baby could defeat this game without having any troubles or problems at all. Bomberman video games are challenging, challenging, challenging, they are much too challenging to compare with Mega Man 64.
Story Line 3/10
In this video game you get to play as Mega Man Volnutt, an orphan who was adopted by a digger. Just like your father, you and your friend Roll search in the ruins for refractors, which are what the whole, entire world relies on for their strength. On a search, your ship is damaged and you have to land on the Kattelox Island. A group of pirates is moving towards the island, hunting for a treasure. You must beat them to the treasure and live through their plots to beat the stuffing out of you. Bomberman video games have much better story lines.
Controls 8/10
These are super simple controls. You use the B button to shoot stuff you use the A button to jump up and you use the C down button to talk to the other people in this Mega Man video game. It is not like you actually find many people to talk to, but when you do find someone to talk to, the only thing they tell you is some useless advice that will not help you in any way, manner, or form.
Graphics and Animation 2/10
The graphics in this video game are extremely dull and extremely boring. The animation is like this: I am going to shoot that guy. I am waiting for Mega Man to respond to the button I just pushed. I am getting bored, Mega Man. GET UP YOU LAZY SLOB, YOU MEGA MAN YOU!!!!!! GO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THOSE BADDIES!!!!!! THEY WILL KILL YOU IF YOU DO NOT KILL THEM FIRST!!!!!! WHY ARE YOU IGNORING ME??? PAY ATTENTION TO ME, MEGA MAN!!!!!! Oh, I see what your problem is now. You need some more coffee to get your day started. BUT YOU HAVE HAD ENOUGH COFFEE TODAY ALREADY, YOU MEGA MAN, YOU!!!!!! WHAT??? GAME OVER!!!!!! THIS CANNOT BE HAPPENING TO ME!!!!!! WHY DID NOT YOU ATTACK THEM WHEN YOU HAD THE CHANCE, MEGAMAN??? WHY, WHY, WHY MEGAMAN, WHY??????!!!!!!
The graphic artists need to improve very, very, very badly.
Sound Effects and Music 2/10
These sound effects are some of the most boring my two little ears have ever heard. They never make me laugh or amazed. The music is definitely lacking in the “I am having so much fun I cannot stand it” department. This music has definitely failed to amaze my two little ears.
Enemies 2/10
There are not very many enemies in this video game at all. The most challenging enemies in this video game are the boss robots, but they are still not challenging at all. In Bomberman video games, nearly all of the enemies are challenging enough to satisfy me.
Play Time 4/10
This Mega Man video game only takes around twenty hours of playing at the maximum to finish. But most of the Bomberman video games take around eighty hours to finish. That means that this video game only lasts for one fourth of the amount of time an ordinary Bomberman video game lasts.
Replay Value 2/10
Okay, now seriously, you do not want play it again. There are many, many, many things that are far more important things in life than this Mega Man video game. Like for instance, Bomberman is now much more important than Mega Man is. If you are playing a Bomberman video game, you will want to play it again and again and again.
Fun Factor 4/10
This video game came directly from the place I like to call dullsville. Bomberman video games are much more fun to play than this video game. You will be much happier with a Bomberman video game than you would be with a Mega Man video game like this one.
Cons and Pros
Cons
Poorly drawn graphics and animation
Very dull sound effects and music
No challenging enemies at all
Pros
Good controls
Recap
Mega Man was the king of bombing, but now he is the queen of bombing. Bomberman was the queen of bombing, but now he is the king of bombing.
Rent or Buy
If you actually want to play a video game with the queen of bombing instead of a video game with the king of bombing, (which I do not see a reason why you would want to do that at all) just go ahead and get this video game. I rented this video game called Mega Man 64. When I realized what kind of horrible video game it was that I was renting, I returned it to the store immediately as in ASAP. (As Soon As Possible, just in case you did not know what ASAP stood for) If you do buy Mega Man 64, and you do not like it one little bit, (which is most likely the case) you can set it on fire and watch it burn, sell it to someone, give it away for free, throw it away, bury it in the sand, or just run up to the very tip top of a very high cliff and watch it fall down to total and complete darkness.
