Perfect Dark
Review by JamesBJames
"The game's called Pefect Dark, I call it perfect!!"
Some people think that newer consoles are better than the N64. Some of them are right, while others are wrong. I think this game is better than almost any game on a new console! Point being, this game is astounding! It has so much stuff in it, you'll probably be playng this game for quite some time. You can rack up days and days on this game! Want to know why this game is so perfect? Well, here are some reasons:
Graphics: 10/10: The graphics are absolutely amazing. You can see everything very clearly, and whatever you look at, it looks as if it was a real thing. The designs of the people are very nice, from their eyes to their clothes. You can see things up close with a sniper rifle, and the graphics don't change a bit. The people who made this game must've been some of the best artists ever.
Graphics: A+
Sound: 9.5/10: Unlike the graphics, the sound is not perfect. It still deserves an ''A'' though. There are over 30 different music tracks, some going slow and calm, while others are going fast and furious! You can find yourself humming to the music as you play the levels. In the Combat Simulator, (which I'll explain more about that later) you can choose what music you want to play while you're fighting.
Sound: A
Control: 18.5/20: The controls are pretty basic, Z to fire, B to change weapons, etc. There are very many different control styles if you don't like one of the ones you are using. Also, if you switch the control style, the new control style is very easy to pick up and to learn. The controls are smooth, and you should not have trouble at them at all. Sometimes, you might go a bit slow if the game starts to lag, but that barely ever happens.
Control: B+
Gameplay: 19/20: Wow, that's all I've got to say. Well...not really. The storyline for this game is simply amazing. You're in many different places, including a tower, an airplane, and even on an underwater ship! Not only is there the main missions to go through, there's something called the Combat Simulator. In this, you can choose from various stages and fight against your friends, or fight against the computer. The computer level varies, from one computer missing every single shot with an automatic, to one computer nailing you in one shot with a shotgun.
Gameplay: A
Challenge: 15/15: Seriously, this game's challenge is HIGH! With so many different solo levels, it will take you a while to complete them without dying. Here's the thing though...There are 3 different modes of difficulty. They're Agent, Special Agent, and Perfect Agent. If you can beat every level on Perfect Agent, bravo, because it will take you a long time. In the Combat Simulator, there are rankings you get. Getting to the top rank will take you a LONG time. There are also 30 challenges for you to do, and challenge number 30 is nearly impossible. Still want to try to get everything done on this game?
Challenge: A+
Play Time: 10/10: I've said this so many times before, but this game will keep you occupied for a long time, and by a long time, I mean at least 30+ hours. I myself, have played for nearly 60 hours. I have only played one game longer than this one, and this one still is better in my opinion.
Rating: A+
Replay: 15/15: After you get done with the story mode, you can take it on in harder difficulties. Who knows, you may even unlock something special! Also, as I said before, you can try to get to number 1 in rank for the Combat Simulator. Compete against your friends against this and make it more fun! There's so much stuff to do, I can't even name it all. This game can be replayed over and over again without getting bored!
Replay: A+
Here are some pros and cons on this game. (Just in case you're still deciding whether to get it.)
Pros:
.Is one of the best games out there.
.Isn't hard to find.
.Is cheap in most stores.
.Will keep you occupied for a very long time.
.Has separate save files so you can actually play on your own file.
Cons:
.You need an expansion pak to get Solo Missions and some other stuff.
So let's take a look,
Overall: 97/100. 97% out of 100%. I round it up, and we get 10/10 total.
Perfect Dark, as I said before, is truly amazing. If you're asking to buy or rent this game, it should be obvious. If you want to get this game, don't rent it...Buy, Buy, Buy!! You'll be disappointed if you have to return it! (If you had to rent it) I hope this has helped you decide whether or not to get this game.
