NFL Quarterback Club 98

"A great football game even today"
Intro: I got this game when I first got my nintendo around 1998 and I was very excited that my mom got me this excellent football game with it. It is a great football game. Keep reading.
Graphics 9/10
The graphics are good for an early nintendo64 football game. You can read the names of the players on the back of the jerseys, you can see the numbers and the helmets have the real football designs, the eye black is on everyones face but the facemask look a little weird because it is the same for every player but it is ok.
Story N/A
Well since it is a football game, there is no story. But you can play in past games like superbowls and championship games.
Sound 9/10
The announcer sounds very good and does not get annoying at all like other football games. He calls the plays right and only speaks after plays and before plays, sometimes during. The background music is kool. When you pause during a game, it has good music but no real music. There is actually only one song in the game but its ok.
Gameplay 9/10
The gameplay is really really simple. You can do punts, kicks, pro-set,I-formation and my favorite, shotgun. You can jump and dive for the football and hand off with the R button when about to get tackled. You have a lot of plays to choose from and all of them are almost the exact same for every team so it is easy to learn the plays so you can play with your favorite NFL teams.
Control 6/10
The controls can be very hard to learn if you dont have an instruction manul. You have to hit a couple of buttons just to pass the ball. Some of them are real basic like faking hut is simply A and the actual hike is Z and you can stiff arm with L or R and to tackle you simply hit B. I bet anyone would probably know that B is the tackle button.
Replay Value 8/10
Well lets see, there is create a player (you can update the game with this), create a team which is boring to me, and thats it. The instant replay is the best replay system on any football game ive played also.
Challenge 7/10
It can be challenging in tight moments like 4th down and most of the time the computer is dumb but you can choose what level you play on, there is rookie, pro and hall of fame. I would play with friends because even when you change the computer level it is still easy.
Buy or Rent?
Well there is more football games out today but if you find a copy of this game under about 8 bucks, buy it! You will not regret buying it. Well, at least I dont. If you are a real football fan, you will like it.
Overall 10/10
If you are looking for a football game that you wont get tired of, get it. You wont want to take it back from where you got it. I hope I helped!
