International Superstar Soccer 64

"One of the best soccer games...EVER!"

This game is one of the best games out on 64. You will play it non-stop for a LONG time!

GRAPHICS: 8/10

The graphics are very realistic. The players are polygons and they look impresive. One flaw is that the crowd is noticably 2D, but you can't really complain. There also may be times when a player kicks and misses by a metre but he the ball still flies through the air, or when the goalkeeper dives and noticably misses but the ball stops dead. But overall the graphics are superb with excellent player design.

AUDIO: 7/10

The commentators on ISS64 can be VERY, VERY, VERY annoying. They say the same thing over and over again. Sometimes the commentator is yelling out and then sundenly sinks to a speaking tone when he says the country name. But it does add SOME gameplay, and it gets the blood pumping. The crowd sound effects are realistic and the 'THUMP' sound when you kick the ball adds that special little something.

CONTROL: 9/10

The controls are splendid! They are easy to learn and you can do so many things. You can curve the ball, one-two, lob, pass and rainbow kick. The players are easily movable. When you turn the control pad or stick the players instantly move in that direction. One of the best control systems on any game!

GAMEPLAY: 10/10

The gameplay is better than most games on any system. Fantastic fun! You'll be playing for hours on end. I remember once i was in my room at 7:00pm and i was playing ISS64. Then the next thing you know, it's dinner time the next day! There are five difficulties ranging from pathetically easy to suicidal! there's also a league option which lasts in excess of 70 matches! there's also penalty kicks, scenarios, international and practice. There's also an option where you can create your own players! It's heaps of fun, especialy with 2 players!

OVERALL: 9/10

This has got to be one of the best soccer games on any system and i don't think many others will come close. Sure it has a few flaws with the audio, but you get over it pretty quick. It's a shame that none of the players are real though, there are no real names used in ISS64. But that doesn't change a thing. Tremendous fun.

Because of it's amazing sales you can get this game pretty cheap so if you don't have it, buy it now!
