Gauntlet Legends
Review by barysnikov
"Great, ongoing plot!"
Introduction- Sumner, a wizard, foolishly released Skorn, a demon of hell. Skorn rose out of hell and and sealed the gateways to the different worlds, so no one could get to his world and defeat him. Sumner then summoned you, to defeat skorn. You must pick your character, and battle through, and beat the first world to earn passageway to the second world, etc. etc. etc.
Gameplay- 10/10
--- You start the game by picking your character, you battle through different levels, and you win by defeating the final boss. The cool thing is that they have an ice level, a gas level, and different levels, for different elements. Really cool! Easy enough? If not, read on. You start by picking and naming your character, then you go to the first world, and defeat enemies, and unlock the first boss, you kill all of the bosses to get pieces of a magical window. Good luck. Controls are basic, they are fairly easy, and you never miss your enemies when attacking it, though the enemies do get harder. The overall difficulty is hard to decide, the enemies DO get hard, the bosses ARE hard. So the overall difficulty is: Hard. Yeah that is about accurate.
Story- 9/10
--- Complicated, you start out with one part of the story, then you get information slowly, as you unlock different worlds. But the story IS good. Easy to understand, just complicated to get. If you want the basic story , look under introduction. The story is about a demon, Sumner, who foolishly summoned the demon, and YOU yes, YOU, destroy the demon. I bet you like this game already. The story is very exciting, and you should enjoy picking up every bit of it. You slowly find out about the evil skorn did, so you have more information on him, really nice.
Graphics- 8/10
--- Very nice, not perfect, but very nice. You cannot change your view manually, so whether or not you see, depends on the games mercy. Every thing looks real. When you kill an enemy, you can see pink mist flying into the air, real cool. When you open a chest it gives that: ERREEEEK! Sound. When you kill enemies you also here that slicing sound. Everything just seems so real! Really realistic! Great graphics! And when skorn is cursing you, he has that evil sound, really nice.
Replayability/ playtime- 9/10
--- After you beat the game you can spend all your time getting to the last level, 99. After you get there you can spend all your time and money buying attributes. And eventually, you will have done everything possible, and then you can only play allot. But replayability, is good. The average playtime for me was 48 hours, but you might be better or worse, so... yeah. If you are good, then you can beat it in maybe 24 hours, if you are bad you can beat it in maybe 72 hours. So depending on your skill, you could beat it fast, or slow.
Over all playability- 10/10
--- Great plot! Fairly easy at the beginning, even if you played without stopping to level up, it slowly makes it hard so that you will have time to level up with out playing the same level over and over, and over again. If you find out enough about the enemies tactics, you can kill them easily. So watching your enemies closely can help. Game is beatable, just not a piece of cake, but is really fun to play anyway.
Buy or rent- Buy definitely! If you do not trust my judgment, rent. But a must-try. Good luck beating it! A great game.
