"a very entertaining game that comes close to mortal kombat"

well for a 2.09$ find I am pleased. I wouldn't have reviewed this game normally but I saw how other people were downgrading it so I had to. Like I was saying I got this game for two dollars at Blockbuster. And I've played this game a lot. If you like mortal combat, or those types of games you'll love dark rift.

Storyline: 5
First of all on the opening screen of the game where it tells the story, It kind of leaves open a lot. In this game an artifact caused a ''Rift'' in time and brought several worlds together. The characters in this have to fight each other to get a hold of two artifacts that demitron and sonork possess.

It then goes on to tell the backgrounds of all the character in great detail. I am happy with the work in this game everything ties together and includes mortal combat style endings. so the storylines in this game are some of the best I've seen in a long time.

Graphics: 6
For the n64 there have been really great graphics and really horrible graphics. In this game the graphics are good. from detailed swords and guns to detailed characters. I enjoy how refreshing it is to play a great game with great graphics.

For the two dollars I paid its amazing how good this game is. There graphics are amazing and yet for a few flaws (characters too dark etc) its perfect.

gameplay: 7
After you get used to the controls the game will fly by. this game is great in every way, and it plays just like mortal kombat only you have more options to choose from. If you are not comfortable with your tournament skills there is a practice level.

Unlike many other games where its too hard to figure out combos, this game is fairly easy yet not too easy.

Buy or Rent: Buy
Definitely buy. if you rent this then you would only have a short time too get use to the game and would just leave you with a sore image of it. after you play it for a week or so you'll be hooked.

Replay value: 8
This game is great to play over and over again by your self or with a friend. believe me when I tell you this game is worth every penny of your money.

I hope you enjoy this game as much I do. If you are trying to find this game I would suggest E-bay or Game-stop.
