WCW/NWO Revenge

"Fun multiplayer, the rest isn't that good"

Revenge was THQ's and WCW's answer to Acclaim's great title WWF Warzone. Revenge falls short in many categories to Warzone, but still is the best WCW wrestling game available.
Revenge's fighting style is quite different from Warzone's fighting game style controls. In Revenge, the action is solely based on grappling. Get into a grapple with your opponent and pull off a move. This system is too easy, as it doesn't really give every wrestler individuality. Every wrestler has the same combinations which result in different moves. It does make for a fun multiplayer though.
Revenge's career mode is boring and unimaginative. You pick the belt you want to fight for, and then fight a series of opponents to win the belt. Once you win, the wrestler you select appears on the select screen with the belt.
Revenge doesn't have a create a wrestler mode. You can only edit existing wrestlers. thus you cannot create wrestlers perfectly, and you lose existing wrestlers.
Revenge also doesn't feature entrance themes. Every wrestler comes out to the same music. One cool thing about the entrances is that tag-teams come out together. They do a generic taunt and then make their way to the ring.
The one place Revenge excels in is multiplayer. This mode will result in hours of fun and may cause real wrestling matches to break out. Revenge is worth buying just for the multiplayer.

Graphics: 6.
The wrestlers look cartoony. Warzone's wrestlers looked more realistic. Also there seems to be too much lighting in the game.

Sound: 5.
Lack of commentary and enrance themes result in a bad score. The music that plays in the background during the matches gets very annoying soon.

Gameplay: 7.
Too simple to make the single player good. Good for multiplayer though.

Replay Value: 8.
Not much point playing single player. Multiplayer is the money maker of this game.

Overall: 7.
If you have 4 controllers and 4 friends, this game is a must have. Otherwise, look at Warzone.
