International Superstar Soccer '98

"A New Soccer Superstar for the N64!"
International Super Star Soccer '98 is one of my favorite sports game of all time. This game is inovative, has great graphics and keeps me coming back for more.
Gameplay-10/10 Alright, there are six different modes of play. They are: Open games, International cup, World League, Penalty Kicks, and Scenarios. Plus, you can make your own player, which is very fun. The International Cup mode of play is just like the World Cup, where you have a round robin tourtment, and then a single elimination tourtment until you get to the finals. In the World League mode of play, you play 94 games and try to get the highest ranking in the world. Penalty Kicks are also a great way to practice, and its very fun. Lastly, there is Scenarios. When you play scenarios, you are put into a game, normally half way through, and your objective is to beat your oponenent. You could be a man down, or you could be losin 5-0, and thats exactly what makes Scenarios so fun to play.
Story-0/10 There is no story, it is just a sports game.
Audio/Visual-9/10 ISS '98 has beautiful graphics that easily rivals the best Playstation graphics. The crowd is 2D, just like in every sports game. The crowd crys if you lose, cheers if you win, and sing and wave flags just like in any real soccer game. The Sound in this game is amazing. Konami got a real European anouncer, Tony Gubba, to announce for this game. Supprisingly, the anouncer always seems to say the right things at the right time, and he never gets annoying.
Replay-10/10 I have been playing ISS '98 constantly, ever scince I got it, in October of 1998. Currently, I am trying to win at the World League mode, which has taken me awhile. Plus, because of the great AI in this game you dont always win, the computer actually gives you a challange.
Overall-10/10 One of the best sports games of all time, and definatly the best soccer game of all time. If you are a soccer fan, and you have a N64, dont even think about renting this game, just buy it!
