"The great arcade game comes home and disappoints!"

Cruis'n USA was a great arcade game and still is. When they brought it to the Nintendo 64 I thought great! But the game disappointed me for several reasons.

Gameplay=> The game just wasn't as fun as it was at the arcade. One thing that made this game worse then the arcade version was the touchy controls. You have to play the game like five or six times just to get use to them. Another reason is you could only have two people racing in the multi-player when they could have easily made it four player and a lot more fun (The major reason for owning a Nintendo 64 is for the great multi-player games!). You play the arcade game and then you come home and play this and think ''Why did I waste my money on this?''

Audio/Video=> This is another point at which the game fails horribly. The graphics were horrible for a Nintendo 64 game! They tried to make things in the background look 3-D, but what really came out was a horrible , flat, 2-D mess. And the car detail was pretty bad as well. And the audio was bad too. In the arcade it was nice quality sound. In the Nintendo 64 version the sounds sound muffled and the music sounds like you are playing it from a used tape. Although they do have the great songs from the arcade version and you can pick the one you want to play. It looks like they were concentrating on getting the game out as quickly as they can and not on how fun or good the game would be.

Replayability=> At first it was fun to play the multi-player (as always) but then the game just sickened me and I made a pact with myself not to play the game ever again. The set backs just make the game not worth playing. I would advise renting it and seeing for yourself because there were some people who liked it.

Overall=> So overall I gave this game a five. The bad factors just weigh out the good ones. My advice, check out Cruis'n World. The sequel to this game which is much, much better.
