Bomberman 64: The Second Attack!

Review by DeepKing314

"You say potato, I say Po-TA-To"

You may have thought that this game was terrible, or that it was the greatest thing ever. All I know is don't ruin other people's aspects of this game by publicly dissing it. You can have a fair say, but I loved this game no matter what.

A follow-up to the original Bomberman 64, this adds even deeper gameplay to the scenario. The story starts out simple enough, but you soon discover that it's no child's pop-up book. It adds a cast of strange and bizarre characters that give you a run for your money throughout the game.

Another new twist is your sidekick, Pommy. A cute, loveable creature found in an egg on the Hot Springs planet, he is always there to help you fight smaller enemies and give a witty comment. He also possesses the ability to evolve into more advanced characters like knuckle-type, beast-type, and even dragon-type. Collect them all! The only downside: he doesn't help in boss battles or in generator rooms.

Each world is simple enough to understand: land there, explore for a while, fight an Astrael Knight, finish exploring the world, destroy the gravity generator, and move on to the next planet. However, each level is unique with it's own enemies, ready to take you down, and its own environment. It never stops to let you rest, making you always alert and ready to solve any puzzle on your toes.

Overall, Bomber man 64: the Second Attack is an inventive and witty game that will give you hours upon hours of gameplay. Enjoy!

Graphics: 8/10 For an old game, it still has decent environments and abilities.
Audio: 8/10 It has many catchy tunes, but they still could have done a little more.
Story: 10/10 It may seem a little confusing at first, but it is still a convincing and eye-catching experience.
Replay Value: 9/10 You'll want to go back and get everything back. I know it.
Multiplayer: 9/10 The mini-games are definitely enough to keep you busy, trying to beat them and unlock all the CPU players. It's fun.
