Duke Nukem Zero Hour

"Come 'n Get Some! (in 3rd person)"

I've always liked Duke Nukem since I was in grade school. I'd always play it on my PC. Then out came Duke 64. That game was very awesome. Then This game came out. I HAD to get it, and it was worth it. Duke takes a turn for the 3rd person look, but believe me it's the same old Duke, same old action, and same old great times.

Graphics- Overall, excellent. All the buildings and other miscellaneaous structures have good detail in them. Also, the "alien scum" all look detailed and better than ever. Duke himself looks purely awesome. And as for the weapons, they all look realistic and authentic. The effects this game shows are also quite well. The cinemas are pretty good well done themselves. Overall, you'll be pleased with the looks.

Sound- Sweet. Just plain Sweet. First off, there is a lot of voice acting in the game, and all sounds great and have emotions and such. Old Duke still has his classic voice. A certain movie involving Arnold is quoted at one point in a round about way. The music is just as good as ever (including the Duke Nukem theme, a very catching and awesome tune). It always keeps your adrenaline flowing so you'll have a great gaming experience.

Gameplay- Very Fun and addicting. For the story, the "Alien Scum" are trying to take over earth again. This time they are sending aliens to the past to alter the future in their favor (thus called "Zero Hour"). You Earths Special Forces technology to go back to stop them. It starts in the near future, but goes through plenty of ages, such as England in the 1800's and Apocalyptic Nuclear Winter future. So the controls are very easy to adjust to. The game is in a 3rd person shooting 3D perspective. You go around killing aliens with a large variety of weapons from all different time periods and races, all with devastating power when used right. The overall gameplay is great.

In conclusion this a great game. Duke Nukem Fans will not be disappointed. With the addition of some decent multi-player and overall greatness, I give Duke Nukem: Zero Hour for N64 a 9/10.
