Review by Braben

"This is not funny."

The other day when this cheap review was rejected because I said that this game was made by Acclaim I realized something, I have always blamed Acclaim for making so many crappy games, but the truth is that as far as I know they haven`t made a single game, never, their games have always been made by companies like Iguana, Prove, etc, anyway, tell me something, are not they responsible for the crap their third parties make?, of course they are, and so I think it is always Acclaim`s fault, or am I wrong?.

But well ok, all the Mortal Kombat games have been made by Midway, so I guess it is fair to blame them first.

Then, one fine day, someone at ``Midway`` was sitting there doing nothing, probably thinking about how can they sell so many video games if most of them stink, but suddenly the guy snaps his fingers and shouts: ``hey, given that we started to get easy money without doing anything (with Ultimate Mortal Kombat) why don`t we continue with the new Nintendo system!``, oh what a great idea claimed the crowd (all the Acclaim members this is), people is stupid, and if they bought Ultimate Mortal Kombat they are going to buy this no matter if it is just the same game they have been playing for years`` yeah! yeah! the crowd acclaimed again. And so Mortal Kombat Trilogy was born.

Plot:
Shao Khan is messing everything again, that pretty much sums up the story, and it is everything you need to know.

Graphics:
The same ones from the Snes versions of Mortal Kombat 3 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat, if you think that due to the N64 capabilities someone was going to move a finger to make them better you just can`t be wrong enough, don`t forget that this game was made just to make easy money (to steal the money you or your parents work so hard to obtain to be more accurate), they did not tried, not even for a single second, to make a good game by any means, not even graphically.

Music:
Considering what I have said before, this one is very easy to guess, so yes, the music, sound, voices etc are the same one from the previous Mortal Kombat games for the Snes, no need to say more.

Gameplay:
I know what you are thinking, but it is not my fault if it the same one as before you know, go blame Acclaim, I mean, Midway. Now, even if it is almost exactly the same one, at least there has to be a new movement, a new superpower, a new pixel, at least something, hum... well, as this is a trilogy, you have characters from all the previous Mortal Kombat games, including the scenarios, movements, Fatalities, Animalities, Pit Fatalities, Everything-alities, and etc, etc, etc, is that enough for you?, HELL NO, and if you are a hardcore Mortal Kombat fan?, it depends if you are a true hardcore fan or someone that just eats whatever he first sees with the Mortal Kombat title on it.

Let`s face it, please, this game is insulting, I can`t understand how can someone like this, yes there are a few new movements, a few new superpowers, but only one or two per character, and not all of them have new ones, not to mention they are insignificant, everything, and I mean absolutely everything else is exactly the same as before.

Conclusion:
Mortal Kombat Trilogy is just Ultimate Mortal Kombat with even more characters and features from the first three Mortal Kombat games, that is all, if you own Mortal Kombat 3 or Ultimate do not even think about this one because it has very little to offer, and that only not to say it has absolutely nothing new to offer, what is more, even considering the slight new features it has, one single dollar would still be a monumental rip off for this game, believe me.
