Tony Hawk's Pro Skater

"Exellent........nothing else to say."

Hey, I love playing extreme games especially the tony hawk series. The one I loved the most was THPS1 for the N-64..This is what started it all. Matt Hoffman's pro BMX,Agressive Inline, Dave Mirra's pro BMX,Cool Boarders,etc. Extreme gaming at its finest. You dont agree with me? Well first read my review for THPS1 before you give out your opinion.

Graphics:9.5/10

This is one of the first times Nintendo came out with a good graphics game. N-64 wasn't at the top of the game yet. PS1 gave it a run for its money. This came out at about '98 or '99. Thats when the graphics couldn't go above 100 bits. But still in THPS1, it didn't look like a 64-bit game. I was excited to see Nintendo come up with a new line of graphics. Good job Nintendo. I give graphics a 9.5.

Controls:10/10

Ok. I have NEVER seen a game with these easy controls. To do the 900, all you gotta do is right down grab. If you cannot master the tricks, then you obviously suck at action sports games. The madonna, a very difficult move to land because while your doing the trick, it looks like your gonna land sideways,but thats how the trick goes. A 540 Madonna will get you about 3000 to 4000 points easy. The control for madonna is upper left diagonal grab. Not that hard. I see people in my school saying that the controls are way too hard but I disagree with them.Overall in controls, 10 out of 10.

Sound: 9.5/10

Ok, Im a HUGE fan of goldfinger.The songs in the game go right with the levls and the way your skating. Its just so amazing to see an extreme game have great songs in it. It really gets you sucked into the game.I give sound a 9.5.

Challenge: 7.5/10

This is something that the original THPS lacked. The freaking game was too easy.
I love a challenge in an extreme game. Of course, despite the score I gave the challenge of the game, its the hardest out of the series. Another thing it lacked was the quantity of the stages. They had only 10 stages. I mean cmon!3 of those stages are contests. The quality of the levels were fantastic. Challenge, 7.5 out of 10.

Gameplay:10/10

This is a great game. Like I said before, this game revolutionized the extreme gaming world forever. Ok, you pick a person you want to skate with. Tony, Rune, Bob, Bucky, and others. If you have unlocked them, you can picked a deck. Then your off skating in a level you desire. I love the camera in this game. You start off behind the skater while you do your tricks. Now heres the thing,when your on a ramp, the camera switches to the front so you can actually see what your doing!
The tricks in this game are phenominal. They have real life moves like the indy, the kickflip, the indy nosebone,etc. 10 out of 10 for sure in this department.

Replay Value: Very High

Your gonna play this game for hours and hours.
