"Not the Best"
Well, for starters, I only played the Japanese import, so I didn't really understand a lick of what they were saying or what was going on. So, I'm scrambling here to write this.
Gameplay 6/10: The ever important gameplay factor! It's not stellar, just randomly beating opponents to get to the boss. The thing is that some characters will be really easy, then maybe the third or fourth is hard, then back to easy until the bosses. I must admit the bosses are really awkward: You fight one guy, then in mid-battle, he'll transform into one monster or another(sorry, I haven't played this game in months). Since it was in Japanese, I didn't really understand the controls, so I'll have to get back to you on that.
Story 0/10: Being the Japanese version, I didn't understand a lick of it. Can't rate what you don't get.
Music/Sound/Voice 4/10 4/10 5/10: Most of the music sucked, no doubt, but there were one or two cool songs which saves this from a 3-rating. The sound wasn't stellar, either, though with the music I can't really hear the sound, but it couldn't be that good if it didn't bear remembering. At least the characters had their own voices, but it's nothing big considering it's an N64.
Graphics 5/10: Well, what can I say. These characters look exactly like 3D anime polygons, which is kinda interesting, but translates into REALLY BAD. But, again, nothing out of the ordinary for an N64 game.
Fun 5/10: It's kinda fun, but it wears off rather quickly. I cannot wait to at least give the English version a chance to see how to do the moves and to see how it all works.
Overall Score 4/10: I find that overall, the game is underrated, but not by much, I can guaran-damn-tee you that. I will say that if they worked out all the rough edges, by the third game, they might actually have a good-selling game.
