Tony Hawk's Pro Skater

Review by hailjh

"Do you have it yet?? Oh, well you have $60-get it now!"

TONY HAWK PRO SKATER for the NINTENDO 64.

INTRODUCTION:

This game is a port of the Playstation version, and if you hold the two side-by-side, you won't be able to tell the two apart within a glance. I think it's a great game and there's no reason to own it.

GAMEPLAY:

This game has a lot of stuff to master. There are 10 licenced skaters (means true blue people) with their boards too. You must pull off big moves and string together the big moves with other big moves. You can do flip tricks (Sex Change, Kickflip, Hardflip, Kickflip to Indy) and Grab tricks who multiply themselves the longer you hold them (Madonna, Rocket Air, Japan Air, Tailgrab.) These will get you a whole bunch of points, but to win the game it lies in grinding, and doing a whole bunch of flip tricks. The way to win is select a skater with a special grind. The better you do, the more tapes you win, which unlock more boards, skate locations, and secret charcters. This will keep you going forever.

GRAFICS:

There solid graphics which is important so you can tell what is trick-off-able and grind-able. It keeps up with its Playstation sister.

SOUND:

It's really clear. Although the songs loop themselves. Nice songs too.

MULTIPLAYER:

Is pretty good. You can play horse on skateboards which is one sided, one person goes and another follows to get more points. Trick attack is just like the one player game with two going at once. You can smack into each other which is cool, and effective to make the other loose their special. Graffiti is where you do a trick off something and it changes color to you. P1=Blue, P2=Red. If the other person does a trick with a higher point value will steal the graffiti tag.

KEEP-'EM-COMING-BACK:

It's good, the multiplayer is weak IMO and the Career mode is great. This game is good to keep. You know you haven't beat it until you have all tapes, Officer Dick, all boards for all characters, 500,000 points on every level, and all gold medals. THEN you have beaten the game.

9/10. Go and buy!
