Army Men: Sarge's Heroes

"A Mediocre game, not what I expected, but OK"

Hmmm. Army Men: Sarge's Heros. Me and my friend were having a sleepover a few days ago and he
brought this Army Men recarnation with him. For those of you that don't know, Army Men is a
popular action game where you command a Green plastic soilder named Sarge and you go around
fighting the war against the Tan Army. Read on to see my review of this average game.

Gameplay-8/10

Like the other Army Men games, you usually have to practice the same mission a few times in
Sarge's Heros before you can beat them. Given that factor, Sarge's Heros is for the more patient
gameplayer (which is not me 8-). Unless if you are the kind of person that is very willing to
play a game for a long period of time for the same part, it is time to use cheats for Sarge's
Heros. The controls are kind of akward and takes a while to get used to.

Storyline-10/10

This game, even though it lacks decent gameplay, the storyline is superb. It is very sophisticated
and the areas follow up nicely with it (I should stop before I give away a spoiler 8-)

Audio/Video-8/10

Sarge's Heros SFX and Background music will leave you stunned. Whenever you fire a weapon, it
sounds just like it would in real life (how did 3DO do that?). The background music is just plain
''cool''. It is very catchy and you will usually find yourself humming a tune from the Background
Music. What is lacking, though, is sometimes when too much is going on, the SFXs are scratchy.
Uh, the graphics are not very flattering. When close up, they are a bunch of pointy-ended polygons.
I can't say the same for the scenery, however, as it it MUCH better than the soilder graphics.

Replayability-5/10

When you beat Sarge's Heros, you basically can't go back and find any secrets, you just completly
beat it.

Buy/Rent

Rent it, then if you liked the experience, buy Sarge's Heros.

Conclusion: 7/10 Total

I have given Army Men: Sarge's heros a 7/10 overall. It is a above average game, but not what I
exactly expected. However, I would recommend wasting a weekend on this game, as it's many levels
will leave you playing for quite a while. If you liked this game, you should try Army Men: Toys
in Space for the Computer (PC).
