"Evil! Evil! Evil!"

-Story-
Okay, the story is confusing and I don't think they should've done that. In this genre, I prefer I story that's not quite so detailed and easier to follow along. This is one of the many weak points throughout the game. Also, just Sub-Zero as the only playable character? Come on!

-Graphics-
The graphics actually are pretty good, compared to the new 3D crap they're doing now. They look very similar to Mortal Kombat Trilogy, which by the way, I think are da bomb! It has the same gore that has been protested at for years, which is another thing that looks great among the array of graphics.

-Music and Sound Effects-
The music wasn't anything great nor were the Sound effects. The music didn't seem like the MK style, which usually is gothic or headhunter type. Well, maybe not headhunter, but something like that. The sound effects were extremely below average compared to the previous MK games. The yells of pain, the punching and kicking grunts, the whoosh of an ice blast were all done very, very crappily. (If crappily is a word, but it if it's not it sounds good anyway)

-Play Control-
It has great play control, but the way it is is really bad. What I mean is that you have plenty of control but the layout is horrible. The six-hit combo thing is really easy to pull off if you were an Mortal Kombat 3 fan and liked Sub-Zero but if you weren't it is hard to master. Also, the turning with the top buttons is really confusing, which takes away from the control. They probably could have added different normal attacks too.

-Originality-
It is an original game, the only of its type, but that's not a good thing. The style was horrible. It's like a platform/fighting/adventure which is a really bad combo. It should've been just plain beat'em up fighting that requires Mortal Kombat skill. The ice bar is actually a very good idea and they didn't screw anything up in that, along with experience points. They probably should have added more playable characters like Liu Kang and Kano.

-Length and Difficulty-
I gonna keep this short and sweet. It's not very long and not very hard.

In conclusion, I don't know why I was looking forward to this, but thank god I didn't buy it. You shouldn't either! It doesn't even deserve a rent. If you see it rotting on the shelf of the video game rental store and feel sorry for it, run away it's evil! I think I'll give it a 5/10 because it is Mortal Kombat and the control is pretty good, along with the graphics.
