Pokemon Stadium
Review by Brak
"Pokemon is becoming the conspiracy Mega Man once was!"
Many people used to be angry at Capcom for milking Mega Man for all he was worth, and making some bland sequels in the process. That's pretty much over, because there's a new thing in town that's even worse! Pokemon!
Graphics: 9/10
The characters look pretty cool on the Nintendo 64! They obtain their look from the TV show, and the attacks look awesome! However, this is basically all the game is about. All you do is battle your Pokemon in 3D.
Sound: 8/10
Each Pokemon has its own cry, which is also cool! The music has been taken right from the game! The sound effects from the attacks are also cool, especially the sounds for the thunder attacks!
Challenge: 3/10
There is no plot, nor can you ''catch 'em all.'' All you do is either take your Pokemon from your Gameboy pack or rent some from the rental area in the N64 game to battle other trainers! Heck, you can battle trainers in the Gameboy pack! Also, you can build their levels up, and you can't do that in the N64 game! Also, it isn't that hard to battle the trainers. After facing them enough times, you learn their strategy, and them they become easy to beat. The concept of catching the Pokemon was what made the Gameboy game fun!
Gameplay: 2/10
Pokemon is a fun Gameboy game, but this N64 game really doesn't have much to offer. The battles get a little time consuming with all the flashy stuff the Pokemon do while they attack, and all the game is is constant battling! I liked Pokemon Snap more than this, and there are some people out there who think that game is as lame as heck!
Overall: 4/10
We got this the same day I got Kickle Cubicle and Battle of Olympus for my NES, 2 games I heartily recommend. Out of 3 games we got, Pokemon Stadium has the least to offer, and was by far the most expensive!
