Pokemon Snap
Review by computerguy1489
"This game is way too simple, but has a snap to it."
As said above, this game is too simple. All you do is take pictures of pokemon while riding in a cart that moves ever so slowly. You get new items when you reach a certain point score.
Graphics:6/10
The graphics are actually pretty good. It almost looks like you are looking at a real pokemon, and the enviroments are well done. What looks cool is when a pokemon evolves or when a pokemon does a special move. Also they created the people in this game nicely. There are also these things called pokemon signs, but all I can say is that they look somewhat cool.
Sound:3/10
The sound is a downpart of this game. There isn't really any music in this game. The only cool sounds are when some of the pokemon make noises like "pikachu!". Also, it sounds cool when you throw a apple or a ball. The camera flashes sound real though. Even with the cool sounds listed above, this has got to have the worst sounds ever other than Toy Story 2. Nintendo should do better sounds than this, but it is an old game. Proffessor Oak does sound a lot like the one in the episodes on television though.
Story:1/10
There isn't really a story to this game. You are this camera guy working for Proffessor Oak. You are on a mission to hunt pokemon,.......and destroy them!!!!! No, all you do is take pictures of pokemon while going through different stages and earning new items to help you.
Challenge:3/10
In this game, most of the levels are very easy, just take pictures of all the pokemon. In other levels, you can't just figure out why you have to keep doing it over and over again. It turns out that after replaying the level over like 100 times, you finally figure out that all you had to do was take a picture of a pokemon you had missed or find a secret passage way by doing something. This would make you pretty angry and want to throw this game out the window.
Replayability:4/10
Even though this game is pretty boring actually (you could finish the game in 30 minutes since it is so short), you can replay the game to unlock any items that you did not unlock yet. Also, you could just replay the levels to get more points, a challenge. Otherwise just sell it or just leave it to get dusty.
Value:2/10
This is not one of those games where you would rush home from school and not do your homework just to play it. In fact, this is one of the worst games I have ever played. This game should not be made anymore and should cost less than 5 bucks.
Variety:8/10
This is about the only good part about this game. On each level, you will see many different pokemon so that is good. Also you can use a lot of different items like apples and balls. It almost makes this game like James Bond. Your weapon is your camera and your gadgets are the items you get. Too bad you can't get different carts with different looks and speeds, etc. That would make the game much better. There are only about 10 or less (I forgot) levels in this game, not like other games with like 20 levels.
Buy or Rent: I would say that you should rent it, but if you really like pokemon and you want to impersinate that camera guy in some episodes of pokemon, then you should buy the game. I'm just warning you that even if you like pokemon, you might not like this game. I personnally don't like this game because there is no action in it, just the snap of your camera every now and then (which get annoying after a while).
Overall:4/10
Overall I think this is an okay game for kids 10 or younger, but for older kids this would be a really boring game.
