"Best wrestling game ever?"

WCW/NWO Revenge is one of the many N64 wrestling games. It is also one of the best nintendo 64 wrestling games with the AKI engine. It has remained great since 1998.

Graphics
For 1998 these graphics were ok. You can tell who is who and what is what. Everything is a little bit blocky, but that isn't a huge problem. Every animation has its own animation. Everything seems to be in order so the graphics are just good enough to get a good rating.

Sound
Why must this games sound suck so bad? There are around three yes count them three entrance themes for all 50+ wrestlers. It gets tiring to hear 2 people come out to the same theme. The crowd is just a lot of yelling. It is really loud and unneeded because it just gives you a headache. All the moves have the same sounds. All wrestlers have the same grunts. This is the only bad thing about this game. Is there anything good you ask? well yes the menus sound is moderate and hearing the ring of the ring post after irish whipping them into the ring post never gets old.

Story
There is no story. All you do is wrestle. Sure you do have various tournaments to wrestle for titles but thats about it. I can not really rate this part of this game.

Gameplay
This like most other games makes up for the bad. Everything runs nice and smoothly. The controls only take around 5 or so minutes to learn. Press and hold a for a strong grapple. Lightly press A for a light grapple. B is the punch button. The C buttons help you run, Irish whip and pick up weapons. Not much more complicated than that.

Roster
Bret Hart, DDP, Han Zo Mon oh my! Yes this is one of the best rosters I could ever ask for! You have some real WCW wrestlers in here mixed with the made up fantasy wrestlers like AKI man. Every wrestler who was with WCW in 1998 this game has. Best roster I have ever seen.

Create A Wrestler (CAW)
Now don't let this feature of this game mislead you. You do not actually create a wrestler. You only can change an existing wrestlers appearance. You can change colors and outfits. Thi could of been something but AKI messed up.

Challenge
Depending on what difficulty the game changes. At the hardest difficulty its is almost impossible to land a move on your opponent. This keeps the single player alive.

Multiplayer
Have a few extra controllers and some friends? Then go play. Start up a 96 man battle royal. This game can lead to hours of mindless fun. Maybe even years!

For $3.00 preowned this is a steal. If you see it get it now! There is no reason to skip one of the best wrestling games ever made.
