Metal Slug 3

"Totally perfect!"

Metal Slug is my favourite game on the Neo Geo. Every game in the series (except Metal Slug 5, I haven't played that yet) has always been a delight to play. Detailed graphics... great sound... flawless animation and most importantly, the most enjoyable and entertaining gameplay on the Neo Geo... every aspect of the Metal Slug series has been beyond perfect.

Gameplay- 10/10
Interaction with many objects in the game is of course apparent. These objects allow new possibilities in the game- on the last level, you have the option to use a machine gun attatched to the ground on a stand to defeat Morden's helicopter. When I first noticed this, I was quite suprised at the thoroughness of the level. This confirmed my belief in the superiority of Metal Slug over many other games. Another interesting object that the player can use is a a big lever attatched to a machine. These can be found multiple times throughout the game, and are used to open a hatch nearby. After you successfully open the hatch, going in leads you to an alternate route. These alternate routes are alternatives for primary parts of a level. They can allow you to find rare slugs (like the Ostrich, Elephant or Drill slug) that can be used to destroy rare ENEMIES found on that alternate route, also. They always lead to the level boss, as do the primary (and more obvious path) that most new players would use.

Graphics- 10/10
If you've played this game before, I'm pretty sure you'll agree with me when I say that Metal Slug has AMAZING graphics. The incredible amounts of detail put into the levels are inmeasurably satisfying to look at. The explosion effects are just SUPERB! Nothing more can be said.

Sound- 10/10
I've never thought sound to be a very relevant part of a game to mention in a review, but since I am, I might as well mention that the sound is VERY GOOD. The music suits the game well, maximizing it to the stage of inequality and undoubtful perfection!

Overall- 10/10
Overall? I think everyone should play this game!!! personally, I think this is THE BEST VIDEO GAME IN EXISTANCE! I don't expect you to agree with me, though. :)
