Minnie the Fighter
Minnie, believe it or not, has one single use: in stages one and four, she can be your ace in the hole. In any given area with a ladder, maneuver yourself so that both you and Minnie are climbing up (or down) a ladder. Then, when Minnie is securely on the ladder, jump off. (It's easier going down, since you can just go down a little then leap off; for going up, it's suggested you go two-thirds up the ladder before jumping off.) If you do it right, Minnie will stay on the ladder, but you'll be off. From there, continue pressing up or down as if still climbing, and Minnie will continue onto the floor without you! Because she's invincible to enemy damage, you can use her to whup some serious butt. Now the Witch and Pegleg Pete are a cinch!
