At the age of 40 {use the 'search' command to make time go faster} the game will glitch and your crew will always be happy; no matter how many men sign up.
After a few years though the effects of this glitch will wear off.Contributed By: Ninjak.

Suspend time
Access the status screen every six to ten seconds while on the sea to suspend time indefinitely.
