(VERSION HISTORY)
 ===============
Version 1.0- it's all finished, on 3/28/03

Version 1.1- fixed some missing info on the Techs.

Version 2.0- Turns out the Twin's stats aren't the same, and boss a certain
crappy boss use a Tech I didn't know he had. Plus I added a Tips and Tricks
section.

Version 3.0- I found another wimpy boss that actually has a Tech. Fixed some
typos here and there. Plus, I found out the only way to gain Techs from bosses.

Version 4.0- I had more typos and text that didn't make sense than I though.
Fixed it. Also added some more info on the bosses.

Version 4.2- I discovered something important to learning Techs, had to
update. While I was at it, I went ahead and added some more info to the Boss
Strategy section. Expect an Item section soon...

Version 5.0- The Items section is done. I even added a new section about
how each stat affects Kunio. I remade the Boss Strategies/Walkthrough
Section. I remade the section titles so they can be distinguished from other
topics.

Version 5.2- Found a new item and a new secret shop, and added some info on
Techs.

(INTRODUCTION)
 ============
Welcome to my Technos Samurai FAQ. This game features things River City
Ransom didn't, like more techniques, techs, more items, more than secret
shops, and a storyline that makes more sense. You even get to have an ally,
the dude running around beside you. Plus, it takes place in feudal Japan.
Anyway, you'll find all sorts of information on the game that I have found
so far. Because I looked at the Codes and Secrets Section, I know the monetary
unit is Ryo. Thanks.

 ________
(1. STORY)
 ========
Here's how it goes: Kunio has to go see his master, Bunzo, because he is in
some kind of trouble. Kunio's brother, Tsuu, tells him to wait. Right in
front of the dojo(?) you meet Asaji and Okoto. Apparently, Asaji and Okoto
are fiances and Kunio appears to be jealous saying," we'll see about that!"
Kunio enters Bunzo's (that's the dojo, I think it's a dojo.) Tora, a bad
guy, has cursed Bunzo. To get rid of the curse, he needs some Kanpou. So
begins Kunio's quest or whatever.

(2. BUTTON CONTROLS)
 ==================
This game has a River City Ransom feel, but there are some changes.

D-Pad
Moves Kunio in the direction you press. The difference between this and River
City Ransom is that you can drastically change the direction of your jump
in mid-air by pressing a direction on the D-pad, especially if you have the
Jump Shoes! Tap the D-pad twice left or right to make Kunio dash.

A Button
This button will make Kunio punch and activate certain Techs (explain Techs
later). With this button you can pick up a weapon while tapping down on the
D-pad and pressing A. You can use the weapon if you have one. You can confirm
things like equipping an item or choosing to boost one stat over another (more
explained later).

B Button
The B button will make Kunio kick and activate Techs that require you to kick.
You can pick up weapons the same way with either A or B buttons. This button
will make Kunio throw a weapon. You can decrease a certain amount of stat
gain, cancel something, or you can see the map if you press Start then B.

Start Button
Start the game or pause it.

Select Button
This will toggle the screen at the top to either show your Stamina and Vitality,
or your money.

 ___________________
(3. MENU EXPLANATION)
 ===================
When you press start, you get 8 choices to alter your gameplay.

Item
All you do is use an item, remove an item that is equipped, give an item to
your ally, or drop it.

Status
Displays your stats. In general, the higher your stats the better. I'll
go into more detail on what each stat does for you later.

Growth
Kunio will start with 10% stat increase on every stat in the beginning. You
can decrease that 10% with the B button and add on to a stat when you press
A, only if there is a number other than zero where it says Left. After you
beat up some enemies, your stats will increase relating to how much % is on
a stat
Example: When growth is set on 30% for KICK, then you gain 3 points of KICK
when you defeat enough gang members.

Tech
Kunio starts with the M. KICK Tech in the beginning. To toggle a Tech on
or off so that you don't have to use it, press A. When the name of the Tech
is gray, you won't be able to use it unless you toggle it on.

Save
Uhhh... save your game, unless you have save state, heh, heh, heh...

Ally
Here's where you can basically tell your ally what to do. Anything on the
AUTO setting will allow him to do what he wants to anything, and most of the
time, they're stupid things.
Here are the commands:
Target
Near: Ally will attack enemy closet to him
Weak: Ally will attack enemy with the lowest amount of Stamina and
      Vitality
Same: Ally will attack the same enemy you are attacking
Attack Style
Apprch(Approach): Ally will approach the enemy depending on the Target
       Setting
Guard: Ally will relatively stay in one place until an enemy approaches
       them
Norm: Ally will fight a lot like the enemies do, also depending on the
      Target setting.
Speed
Slow: Ally will hesitate to attack (Why would you WANT this setting?)
Fast: Ally will hastily attack enemy (Now that's more like it.)
Norm: Ally attacks as fast as enemy does.
Weapon
Throw: Ally will pick up weapon (or enemy) and throw it/them.
Use: Ally will pick up weapon (or enemy) and swing it/them.
None: Ally won't care about weapons or picking up an enemy.

Setting
Sets up the game.
Your choices are:
Difficulty: uhhh... how hard the game is
Message Speed: How fast the text scrolls at the bottom of the screen
Currents: The higher the current level, the faster water will move
          Kunio around.
Water Effects: How much water is going to move objects around.
(Once the arrow is on Water Effects, press down again to see these...)
Attack Balance: The amount of ATTACK an enemy has in comparison to
                DEFENSE and STAMINA

Defense Balance: The amount of DEFENSE an enemy has in comparison to
                 ATTACK and STAMIMA.
Stamina Balance: The amount of STAMINA an enemy has in comparison to
                 ATTACK and DEFENSE.
Enemies: The amount of enemies you fight per gang.

Setup
Here, you can change from 1 to 2 players, switch characters by moving the
arrow on Kunio and pressing A, or if you press Select, you can change their
names.
Mode 1: You can only hurt your ally if you throw or hit something at
        them.
Mode 2: You can hurt your ally as if they were an enemy.

(4. WHAT STAT PROVIDES WHAT FOR KUNIO)
 ====================================
Concerned about which Stat you should raise, well look no futher. This
section will explain what stat affects Kunio in the heat of battle. If you
see a Tech under two categories, it's a mixture of both.

PUNCH- the higher your PUNCH stat, the harder Kunio punches.
Techs affected by PUNCH: M. FIST, M. FIST II, S.TORP, SLAP SP, HELICOPTER,
N. ATTACK, DRILL

KICK- the higher your KICK stat, the harder Kunio kicks
Techs affected by KICK: M. KICK, M. KICK II, TORNADO, MASSAGE, M. KIU, M.
FUMI, HEADBUTT (don't ask how HEADBUTT is related to KICK, I don't know.)

WEAPON- the higher your WEAPON stat, the harder Kunio swings a weapon.
Techs affected by WEAPON: M. WPN, DAGGER SP

THROW- the higher your THROW stat, the more damage a thrown weapon or gang
member does.
Techs affected by THROW: WARPSHOT, HELICOPTER, BMPKNART

STAMINA- how much maximum STAMINA Kunio has. It can't go past 255.

VITALITY- how much maximun VITALITY Kunio has. It can't go past 255.

AGILITY- the higher your AGILITY, the faster Kunio moves.

WILL- the higher your WILL, the faster Kunio gets up off the ground when he's
knocked down.

DEFENSE- the higher your DEFENSE, the less damage you take from an attack.

STRENGTH- the higher your STRENGTH, the chance for you to hit through an
enemies block or to successfully block increases. If you have H. GUARD, your
block will always be successful.
Techs affected by STRENGTH: SCREW, SCREW II, H. GUARD

 _______________
(5. SECRET SHOPS)
 ===============
This game features a ton of secret shops! Unfortunately, they aren't so
obvious (some of them) and they are expensive. By the way, the direction
I tell you means you move Kunio that direction:

SURUGA
The area you start in has one secret shop.
SECRET SHOP: From the screen you started on, go left one screen. Then when
you come to the hilly area with the shrubs, move down, and run along the bottom
of the screen while holding down.

KOUZUKE
This area is red and has a sunset in the background. I think it's a swamp...
SECRET SHOP 1: On the left screen, with the bridges, move Kunio under the
second one (doesn't matter which way you entered). Once he disappears, move
right to find the shop.
SECRET SHOP 2: On the left screen go up until you can't go any further and
move left to find the shop.

RIKUCHUU
This is a mountainous area with two great shops. Unfortunately you really
need to save your money. I'm going to give directions to the shops as if
you came from Suruga.
SECRET SHOP 1
Go through that cave to reach a grass (well it's green) covered hill. Dash
left while holding down and you will run into an indentation. You'll appear
in the next screen near a bridge. Go down until Kunio jumps down, then head
right.
SECRET SHOP 2: Follow the same directions above, but this time, cross the
bridge and if your lucky, there will not be a waterfall and you can enter
the cave.

EZO
This area is in the north and coincidentally it's icy and covered in snow.
SECRET SHOP 1: Maybe it shouldn't be a secret shop because it's one the obvious
ones. Head right until you see a cave. Walk in and you will enter the not
so secret shop.
SECRET SHOP 2: On the second screen, past the cave, head left to find a small
pond and a cliff. Either use the Jump Shoes to get on the high ledge, or jump
in the small pond and walk left to appear on the ledge. Once you are on the
ledge, move down until you are on the edge, and walk left.

ECCHUU
This area is almost all water, except for the town.
SECRET SHOP 1: On the screen that leads to the town area, go under the
waterfall that is on the bottom of the screen.
SECRET SHOP 2: On the screen south of the first secret shop, head to the lower
righthand corner. Get on that piece of land and head right.

INABA
The desert
SECRET SHOP 1: On the screen that looks like a valley, jump down from the
right most hill and head right.
SECRET SHOP 2: Follow the same directions for the first shop except go down
instead of right.

NAGATO
This area doesn't look like much, but there is a cave here. To get in the
cave, head below either of the hills and walk along the black part.
SECRET SHOP: On the screen with the cave and numerous waterfalls, head under
the waterfall to the far lower left hand part of the cave and walk left.

HIZEN
This place is like a city, whose only inhabitants are the various gangs you
have to fight.
SECRET SHOP 1: On the screen with the inn, go right until you see that blue
patch of sky. Walk into it.
SECRET SHOP 2: On the screen with no shops on it, head right until you reach
the edge of the platform. Jump down and run right.

KAWACHI
This place is kinda like a market. It's made entirely of shops.
SECRET SHOP: On the screen with no water on the bottom, run along the
bottom of the screen while holding down to enter the shop.

TOSA
I consider this area the ocean with rocks sticking out that you could fight
on. If you have Water Effects set on EX, you're probably going to end up
chasing downed enemies and other weapons.
SECRET SHOP 1: On the screen with the most land, go under the cliff in the
shadows and WALK toward the wall.
SECRET SHOP 2: On the screen with the rock that has the blue stuff on it (ice
I think, because you can slip on it) go in the water left of the rock, move
up as much as possible, and run and jump to the left. You have to be airborne
to enter the shop.

 ________
(6. TECHS)
 ========
_______________
BASIC ABILITIES

There are actually plenty of things Kunio can do. These are his basic
abilities, and everyone can use them. If you see an opportunity to use these,
go ahead

STOMP
To use: Press A+B over a downed enemy to stomp on them

GRAB
To use: Press A over a downed enemy to pick them up over your head and B to
grab an enemy by the legs

SWING
To use: Use the enemy you grabbed as a weapon. Press A when an enemy is in
your hands. If you grabbed them by the legs, Kunio will swing them around

THROW
To use: Throw an enemy. Press B while an enemy is in Kunio's hands. If he
is holding them above his head, he just tosses them. If Kunio grabbed them
by the legs first, he will spin them around then fling them, usually off the
screen.

SIT AND STRIKE
To use: Move up or down over a downed enemy. When Kunio is sitting on them
(you can tell if the enemy is moving with you) press A or B to attack them.

FLYING UPPERCUT
To use: Press A+B to jump and while Kunio is still rising from the jump, press
A to uppercut. This even works when you press A right after you drop from
a cliff.

WALL BOUNCE
To use: Dash toward a wall. When you are near the wall (not to close because
you'll just run into it), jump toward the wall. Hold the direction of your
travel in the air. Example: You wall jump towards the left. When you jump,
hold left, but after you bounce off the wall, hold right.

BLOCK
To use: Try to attack when your enemy attacks and Kunio will block the attack
taking no damage, only if your STRENGTH is high enough.

_____

Rating: It's good, just don't use it when your ally is closest to you...

DRILL
To use: Tap down repeatedly to make Kunio spin around.
Found: Suruga Secret Shop; learn from Jinro
Rating: It keeps the enemies that like to run around off of you, and it's
funny to see Kunio spin around on an enemy on the ground.

HELICOPTR
To use: Pick up a downed enemy, over Kunio's head, and tap down repeatedly
to spin them around for damage.
Found: Kawachi Tech Shop; learn from Asaji

Found Tosa Secret Shop 2
Rating: Read M. FIST II's rating and replace uppercut with roundhouse.

roll into someone.
Found: Hizen Secret Shop 2
Rating: Read S. TORP's rating

SLAP SP
To use: Dash and press A to make Kunio release a barrage of slaps.
Found: Nagato Secret Shop; learn from Gonsa
Rating: Well, if the enemy doesn't go down after the first slap, they should
after the third of fourth.

DAGGER SP
To use: Both of these uses are with a dagger (the little white stick). Tap
down repeatedly to make Kunio spin around with the dagger.
Found: Tosa Secret Shop 2; learn from Yago
Rating: To me, it's basically the same thing as Drill, pretty much useless,
and you have to have a dagger.

HEADBUTT
To use: Dash and press B
Found: Ezo Secret Shop 2
Rating: It's pretty powerful and quick. It's a great way to drain someone's
Stamina.

MASSAGE
To use: While holding a downed enemy in front of you by pressing B on top
of them, tap up repeatedly to deal some swift kicks below the belt.
Found: Learn from Han
Rating: This is a great way to rack up damage on gang members with high defense.
Besides, it's just funny!

DEFLECT
To use: Jump in the air, hold down and press A+B to transform into the nearest
enemy.
Found: Learn from Nizae
Rating: Turn into any boss you want and beat the crap out of them with their
own Techs and raw power. Plus, you acquire their amount of Stamina and
Vitality when you transform. That could be a bad thing though...

BIGBANG
To use: When Kunio is stun, tap up repeatedly to make Kunio unleash a glowing
FART that knocks everyone down except for you (makes you wonder if it's the
smell or the actual force).
Found: Learned from Beeg Boss.
Rating: While it leaves the best of us wondering it will give you time to
run away or beat the crap out of an enemy.

BUMPKNART
To use: Tap up repeatedly to levitate all the weapons on the screen then press
A to throw them at the nearest person.
Found: Learned from Juuki
Rating: It does a reasonable amount of damage on one person. Make sure you
aren't near the person using this Tech or you will get hit, and Vice Versa.

_______________________________
LEARNING TECHS THROUGH FIGHTING

At random times after Kunio defeats a gang member, Kunio can learn a Tech.
You know when you've learned a Tech at random when a message at the bottom
of the screen says:
(NAME OF CHARACTER BEING USED) learned a new Tech!

So far the only Techs that I have found that can be learned this way are:
M. FIST
M. KICK
M. WPN
N. ATTACK
H. GUARD
E. TORP
SCREW
It's not a great selection but Kunio can learn these after he defeats an
opponent at a random time.

 ________
(7. ITEMS)
 ========
Here are the items, besides Techs, that you can buy.

FOOD AND POTIONS-REFILLING STAMINA AND VITALITY
The way Kunio can refill Stamina and Vitality is to eat and drink. I don't
need to make a chart, but instead explain this:
The amount of money you pay for the food or potion is the amount of Stamina
or Vitality Kunio refills.
Example: TENPURA cost 100 Ryo so it will refill 100 STAMINA.
____
FOOD
Food refills Stamina. When you buy food, Kunio usually eats it where he's
standing. These are the only exceptions. You can carry these foods out the
store, and they are the:
DANGO
RICEBALL
MANJUU
_______
POTIONS
These are the items you can get from HEALERS, and they refill Vitality. The
Kanpou, a potion, can't be used by Kunio, but will allow Bunzo to become an
ally. You can carry potions around.

INN
All the Inns cost 100 Ryo to stay and they always refill all your STAMINA
and VTALITY. Sometimes, it's a better bargain than buying Food or Potions.
______________
CLOTHING ITEMS
--------------
Kunio can buy all sorts of clothing items to help him out. When I say all
kinds of clothing items, I mean it. The items are divided up by type. Here
are the abbreviations for the stats:
PUNCH-
KICK -
WEAPON- WPN
THROW-
STAMINA- STAM
VITALITY- VIT
AGILITY- AGL
WILL-
DEFENSE- DEF
STRENGTH- STR

 _________
(8. ALLIES)
 =========
You're probably wondering if you can get another ally besides that wimp Tsuu.
You can, but you have to follow the requirements listed below for all the
allies you can get:

TSUU
Best Qualities: uh...
Worst Qualities: everything
Tech: BigBang and M. KuiKui
How to get: He's Kunio's brother therefore you start with this wimp.
Conclusion: He's a wus and you will end up replacing him. The only good thing
Tsuu can do is the BIGBANG, which knocks everybody down when he gets his butt
kicked.

GONSA
Best: That much STAMINA in the beginning and the SLAP SP Tech
Worst: Hardly any STRENGTH
Tech: Slap SP
How to get: Defeat Gonsa after defeating his gang.
Conclusion: He's a superb ally until you fight Kinsu or Heisi's gang. They
always seem to go after Gonsa, then you. Later on, his use goes down and
he's useless when he leaves...

RIKI
Best: his PUNCH packs a punch...
Worst: that lousy amount of STAMINA, but it can be fixed...
Tech: M. Fist
How to get: After defeating Yono, your current ally has to be K.O.ed, then
Riki will enter the fray.
Conclusion: Not bad when your current ally gets ganged up on, because they'll
be to busy attacking you to worry about Riki, but one hit can probably take
out all his Stamina. Just don't keep him long, because there's...

HEIRU
Best: THROW stat combined with the Warpshot Tech
Worst: This amazing combo can backfire on you, and he hardly dashes.
Tech: Warpshot
How to get: He will join after you defeat him twice.
Conclusion: That Warpshot and superb Throw stat can backfire if he
accidentally hits Kunio, causing massive damage and probably eliminating all
his Stamina. He never dashes unless he's going after an enemy, so the gangs
tend to gang Heiru.

KINSU
Best: Excellent AGILITY
Worst: Low STAMINA and VITALITY
Tech: N. Attack
How to get: Defeat Jinro
Conclusion: This guy would be awesome if he could last longer in a fight.
Plus, all the gangs after Jinro want to beat the crap out of Kinsu. A few
Stamina and Vitality boost would help a lot. Along with being fast, this
guy hits hard. When the computer controls Kinsu, he hardly makes use of the
N. Attack.

BUNZO
Best: DEFENSE and WILL
Worst: Read Kinsu's worst
Tech: Headbutt
How to get: Get the Kanpou from Yago, and head back to the Bunzo's. Conclusion:
Bunzo can really dish out the pain, but he won't last long in a fight either.
I've noticed that the last few bosses only go after Bunzo, probably because
they want him eliminated anyway. Oh yeah, and his Headbutt is cool too.

JUUKI
Best: VITALITY is good, he'll last longer
Worst: BMPKNART will backfire
Tech: BMPKNART
How to get: After defeating Han, Juuki will appear wearing light gray.
Conclusion: His stats are mediocre for this part of the game, except for his
Vitality, which is good. BMPKNART gets on my nerves when the computer decides
to let the weapons fly while you're near him. A disadvantage or an advantage,
is that if Juuki isn't following Kunio around, he'll be on the last boss'
side for the final battle, and if you defeat Juuki, and not the last boss,
Kunio can learn BMPKNART. But if Juuki is with for the final battle, you
fight the last boss alone. Hmmm...

TSUI
Best: He can really KICK
Worst: Tatsu has more Stamina and Vitality
Tech: Tornado
How to get: After defeating Tsui in the first fight (when they fight together),
choose NO to let him go. When your ally gets K.O.ed, then Tsui will join.
Conclusion: So far, Tsui is the second best ally, second to Tatsu. Either
way, he's still good. Finally, you get that TORNADO Tech in your side. Both
of the twins have excellent stats.

TATSU
Best: Tsui's best
Worst: His WEAPON stat stinks!
Tech: Tornado
How to get: Read Tsui's How to get, and replace Tsui with Tatsu
Conclusion: Tatsu by far is the best ally. I don't worry about his weapon
stat because Tatsu is always too busy using that TORNADO to even pick up a
weapon. Plus, I always set weapon use to none.

(9. BOSS STRATEGIES/WALKTHROUGH)
 ==============================
This is pretty much the walkthrough since the game involves beating up the
bosses and their respective gangs. Some of the bosses will lead you on to
find whatever you happen to be looking for, but some will lead you in the
wrong direction, while at the same time, teaching you techs only if yoy have
the Master Belt equipped. The amount of cash you earn is also listed by the
names. Here's a reminder, after you beat a boss while having the Master Belt
equipped that check the tech screen to see if there is a Tech there. If I
say that boss has a certain Tech, you need to have the Master Belt on to learn
it. By the way, when I refer to their gangs, I'm used to going by the River
City Ransom name, if they had one. It's easier to remember them.

GINPA, THE MORON- 100 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Sky Blue (Generic Dudes)
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 10 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: NONE
WHO JOINS: Nobody
WITH MASTER BELT: Since he appears so many times, it's easy to defeat him,
especially towards the end when you have gained all those Techs from previous
bosses.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: Since Kunio has the M. KICK Tech, dealing multiple hits
on Ginpa and keeping him stun shouldn't be a problem. Kick him while he's
down and you will succeed.

GONSA, THE VENGEFUL ALLY- 120 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Pink (Frat Guys)
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 12 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: NONE
WHO JOINS: Gonsa
WITH MASTER BELT: If it's the first fight, you will still have M. KICK, unless
you gambled to get enough money for a better Tech. Otherwise, don't run
because at this point in the game, Kunio is a wimp, much like his brother.
Instead, charge Gonsa with the M. KICK. Until he falls. If you let him attack,
he will be all over you until he uses the SLAP SP, which will probably knock
you pretty far, allowing you to charge him. The Stamina and Vitality loss
isn't worth it.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: I consider this the second fight strategy. Kunio's stats
should be at least over 25 and he should have a good amount of Stamina and
Vitality. I you don't have a decent Tech, refer to the strategy above.

Note: After these to bosses, Sanki will appear and tell you Okoto has been
kidnapped. Apparently, two guys were responsible. Check your map! Are those
two guys walking around together? Looks like you got a job to do.

YONO, THE HEALER- 160 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Light Gray (Mob) there is no gang preceding him, he just wears
gray.
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: NONE, since he is by himself
TECH LEARNED: SCREW
WHO JOINS: Nobody
WITH MASTER BELT: Use the SLAP SP to run all over Yono. He rarely uses the
Tech he has, so this fight will be very much like a fight with Ginpa. Just
pound away until he is defeated.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: Read strategy above and take out the sentence about the
SLAP SP.

ICHI AND ROKU, TWO MORE GOONS- 140 Ryo each
GANG COLOR: Yellow (Home Boys)
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 14 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: NONE
WHO JOINS: Nobody
WITH MASTER BELT: You must have the SLAP SP Tech since you defeated Gonsa
with the Master Belt equipped. Using the SLAP SP in the beginning of the
fight will give you a major advantage. Once they are close to you, use your
M. KICK to defend you front. If one of them gets on the opposite side, you're
screwed. Let them knock you down and try to hit both of them at the same
time. When they are at a good distance away from you, use your SLAP SP and
you will win in no time.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: Use M. KICK to defend your front and when they are
vulnerable to an attack, use your most damaging move. Otherwise, read the
strategy above.

KINSU, JINRO'S LACKEY- 200 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Faded Blue
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 20 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: N. ATTACK
WHO JOINS: Nobody
WITH MASTER BELT: This is the first speedy boss you're going to fight so make
sure you use the Warpshot to slow him down of stop him to get some hits in.
If he's runnig your way, use the SLAP SP to "run" by him and keep going until
he falls down. You shouldn't run away from Kinsu, not only because if his
speed, because he is likely to N. ATTACK you and then you're on the ground,
a bad place to be in a fight like this. Luckily, Kinsu likes to charge you
a lot so make use of that H. GUARD to get Kinsu on the ground.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: This can be pretty difficult, especially if you didn't
build up your AGILITY. Your best bet is to let him come to you and retaliate
with your M. KICK or other strong move you might have been using. You can
also throw things at him if he's running right at you.

HEISI, BROTHER TO KINSU, JINRO'S OTHER LACKEY-220 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Blue
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 20 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: H. GUARD
WHO JOINS: Nobody, but he has valuable information later on...
WITH MASTER BELT: Use your quicker attacks to keep you distance from Heisi.
The WARPSHOT Tech is especially helpful, even more if you have boosted your
THROW stat. Use Warpshot to stun and damage Heisi then move in with the SLAP
SP or your highest damaging move. Repeat and victory will be yours.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: This can be a little difficult if you have been
button-mashing the whole time. Use any dashing attack to surprise Heisi.
Since enemies in this game don't have God-like reflexes to block your every
move, Heisi is most likely to get hit if you charge him. When he's on the
ground, sit on him and strike or just stomp.

TAME, ANOTHER ONE OF JINRO'S LACKEIES- 180 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Dark Yellow (Home Boys)
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 18 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: M. FUMI
WHO JOINS: Nobody
WITH MASTER BELT: Use any of the Techs you have acumulated so far, but beware,
this is the point in the game where bosses start to get stronger so one hit
can set you up for destruction. If you throw something at him, use your most
damaging move. Yet another fight like Ginpa except for his M. FUMI Tech.
If he manages to get you on the ground, he will M. FUMI you into submission
so if you feel that you don't get up fast enough after you're knocked down,
start to increase your WILL before this fight.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: Use any Tech you may have brought from a Tech shop and
beat him into submission. Don't let him knock you down because you will be
M. FUMIed until Kunio can get up.

HEIRU, JINRO'S LACKEY (This is getting old)- 160 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Light Green (Jocks)
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 16 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: WARPSHOT
WHO JOINS: Heiru, after the second time defeating him
WITH MASTER BELT: Assuming you have SCREW from Yono, use it or the SLAP SP
to prevent heiru from picking up a weapon to throw at you, considering it
will always hit with his WARPSHOT Tech. If your two Techs just aren't
producing the desired effects, fight fire with fire and throw stuff at him
to stun him and then use your most damaging move.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: Throw stuff at him to stun him and use your most damaging
move. Connecting with multiple hits with the M. KICK is actually helpful,
if there is nothing to throw.

JINRO, THE MISTAKEN BEEG BOSS- 240 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Greenish-Brown (looks like something that crawled out of the
sewers).
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 24 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: DRILL
WHO JOINS: Kinsu
WITH MASTER BELT: This is like a more powerful version of Heisi, because you
don't have to attack Jinro to make him use his DRILL Tech. This also becomes
a problem if you aren't using the WARPSHOT to stun him and then attack him.
Fist fighting is a bad idea because he always retaliates with DRILL, doing
major damage consecutively. Charging him with N. ATTACK won't ensure that
you won't take damage because sometimes, Jinro likes to Drill in mid-air AFTER
you knocked him away. The same goes for SLAP SP.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: This is a difficult fight. You need to throw things
and use your strongest move. Charging him with M. KICK or any other Tech
you have will work. For the best results, charge him, to deal damage and
then constantly attack him while he is on the ground. Attacking while waiting
for him to get up ensures that he won't use DRILL to knock you away.

Note: The gray figure walking around now is Yono, and he has the Kanpou so
that Bunzo will be able to fight.

HAN, TORA'S HOLY GUARD- 260 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Purple (Benny & Clyde, they have their respective colors)
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 26 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: MASSAGE
WHO JOINS: Han, once you enter Bunzo's again
WITH MASTER BELT: Knock Han on the ground with your strongest move, use DRILL
on top of Han to deal substantial damage. Han's pretty much a wimp, except
for his high WEAPON stat. If he picks up a weapon, make sure he doesn't hit
you with it and knock it out of his hand. He can't really block anythin due
to his low STRENGTH stat so hitting through his block is no problem. Always
use N. ATTACK if he decides to go fetch a weapon. If Han manages to run circles
around you, use the WARPSHOT to slow him down.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: Han is still a wimp even if you don't have a crapload
of Techs to use. Just pound away at him and don't let him use or pick up
a weapon. If Han manages to run circles around you, throw something or charge
him in the opposite direction.

YAGO, THIEF/PIMP? (He gives Kunio a lot of money later on...)- 280 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Dark Gray
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 28 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: DAGGR SP
WHO JOINS: Nobody
WITH MASTER BELT: Either SLAP SP or N. ATTACK a weapon dagger out of his hand
if he starts with one or he picks one up. Use your most powerful move and
he will eventually be defeated. Letting him use his DAGGER SP Tech will make
this another Jinro type battle, but if he is using his Tech a lot, refer to
the Jinro strategy.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: Just knock the dagger out of his hand somehow, then don't
let him pick up anther dagger. If he runs off to pick up another weapon,
chase him down.

Note: The NEXT gray figure walking around is Juuki. Let him join and pick
him at Bunzo's before anything else. There is a special reason for this
because if done correctly, Kunio can learn BUMPKNART after defeating Nizae.
I'll explain it when I explain...

NIZAE, TORA'S LACKEY, VERY UGLY- 300 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Burgundy/ Blood Red (Squids)
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 30 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: DEFLECT or your ally's Techs get added onto yours! This is
why you need Juuki! Use Kunio to defeat Nizae while Juuki is alive! If Juuki
is knocked out, you learn DEFLECT, but if Juuki is alive and you're using
Kunio, Kunio learns BMPKNART. I call it the MIRROR EFFECT. Either way, you
get a good Tech, BMPKNART, or DEFLECT.
WHO JOINS: Nobody
WITH MASTER BELT: Because you have gained all those Techs, this battle could
be difficult. For starters, don't let him transform into Kunio, by knocking
him out the air using N. ATTACK. If he manages to DEFLECT into Kunio, use
your distance attacks, like WARPSHOT and N. ATTACK, otherwise I could be
another Jinro-type battle, because of your DRILL and H. GUARD techs. If you
have trouble with Nizae because he transformed into you, refer to the Jinro
strategy.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: For once, not having the Master Belt makes a fight easier.
Since you probably don't have all the boss' Techs, when Nizae DEFLEECTs into
Kunio, he won't gain the advantage, but the disadvantage. You'll have so
much experience fighting tougher bosses that fighting yourself will be a
breeze. Just pound away and if he transforms into you, just keep pounding.

TATSU AND TSUI, THE KIDNAPPERS- 320 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Dark Blue (Cowboys)
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 32 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: TORNADO
WHO JOINS: Neither one...yet...
WITH MASTER BELT: With the H. GUARD, you could possibly stop their deadly
TORNADO Tech, but don't think about going defensive. This fight is completely
offensive. You have to be attacking at least one of them at all times until
one is K.O.ed, then let the other get away and don't finish off the wounded
one because after this point, once your ally gets K.O.ed, the one you beat
up will become an ally. But anyway, use distance attacks like WARPSHOT and
N. ATTACK. If you want to use their own TORNADO against them, DEFLECT into
one of them and kick away.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: This can be dfficult, especially if you try to fight
both of them at once. Use any Tech that keeps distance between both you and
the twins, try to stun them, and then use your most powerful attack. The
good thing is that once one of them is K.O.ed, the other one retreats to fight
another time. Fighting one is easier than fighting both, so you shouldn't
have a problem with one by himself.

TATSU OR TSUI
See information above, except that this time, it's one-on-one.

Note: After this, you can meet up with Okoto and she'll complain that Asaji
kidnapped her. Then you can meet up with Heisi and he'll tell you that Tora
hired Asaji and the BEEG BOSS is behind this.

GINPA REVISITED
This time after you defeat him, he'll lead you in the wrong direction,
towards...

ROKU AND ICHI
These goons have nothing to do with Okoto being kidnapped. Scroll up and
read the strategy.

THE BEEG BOSS: TSUU?!, BROTHER TO KUNIO, WIMP, AND TRAITOR- 340 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Dark Green (Internationals)
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 34 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: Any Tech Tsuu had that you didn't, only if you forgive him.
WHO JOINS: Tsuu will rejoin if you forgive him
WITH MASTER BELT: Since Tsuu is so much of a wimp, just use anything you want,
there is no real strategy. Just don't let him use the BIGBANG.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: Read strategy above.

ASAJI, MASTERMIND OF THE PLAN TO ELIMINATE BUNZO, WIMP- What money?
GANG COLOR: Red (Plague)
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 36 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: Huh?
WHO JOINS: Yeah, who?
WITH MASTER BELT: Sure, there was tension before, but who knew Asajii would
be this involved? You can't defeat him now, so let him go...
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: ^

TORA, ENEMY TO BUNZO, AND ASAJI- 380 Ryo, from Tora...
GANG COLOR: Black
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 36 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: E. TORP and S. TORP
WHO JOINS: Nobody (C'mon, it's Tora and Asaji)
WITH MASTER BELT: Avoid being knocked down at all cost, because if you get
E. TORPed off the screen, you have to fight his gang over again. His S. TORP
can wipe out your STAMINA if he connects mulltiple times. The good thing
is that he has very little STAMINA and VITALITY, so using distance Techs can
seriously put the hurt on Tora.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: Hopefully you have enough money by now to buy some decent
Techs, use them. It doesn't matter, Tora will hardly last long enough to
use anything but the S. TORP or E. TORP, ifhe manages to knock you down. Keep
pounding away and if you don't let him jump, he can't use the S. TORP. If
you constantly attack, Tora probably won't be able to retaliate. Even if
Tora uses S. TORP, you can still hit through it.

YAGO REVISITED
It's actually another Ginpa type fight, but with a purpose. After defeating
Yago, he will offer you a charm. It's called a GOODTIME. Use it, go to another
area, and check your money. There will be at least a 9 in the sixthed number
slot. What kind of good time did Yago have to have that much money to give
to Kunio?

ASAJI, DOWNRIGHT WEAK- 360 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Red (Plague)
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 36 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: HELICOPER
WHO JOINS: He hates Kunio...
WITH MASTER BELT: It doesn't matter what Techs you use, Asaji is so weak,
he had to hang around stronger guys and run the first time you get ready to
fight him. Do what you want, you're probably so strong now that it doesn't
matter. But the odds get worse for you if Juuki is with Asaji.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: Read strategy above.

JUUKI, THE TRAITOR- 400 Ryo AND ASAJI- 360 Ryo
GANG COLOR: Asaji's
CASH FROM GANG MEMBER: 36 Ryo
TECH LEARNED: BMPKNART and HELICPTR
WHO JOINS: Oh please!
WITH MASTER BELT: Maybe it's time to use the S.TORP when Juuki charges you.
Sure, the only time you can fight Juuki is with Asaji, but Asaji will be K.O.ed
before you know it. Juuki is vulnerable when he uses BMPKNART, and he
hesitates to throw the weapons for a while, so that's the perfect time to
use your strongest move on him to wear down his STAMINA. What makes this
fight easier is that contrary to his ally "form" he has no VITALITY so 255
points of damage will finish him off.
WITHOUT MASTER BELT: Pretty much the same strategy above except take out the
part about Techs that you don't have.
_______________
OPTIONAL BOSSES

GONSA SECOND TIME
If Gonsa has been K.O.ed and you don't pick him back up at Bunzo's, his gang
will be walking around again. I see this as another opportunity to learn
SLAP SP if you didn't have the Master Belt before. Scroll up and read the
Gonsa strategy.

GINPA
He will appear way too much near the end.

THE BEEG BOSS- TSUU
He kinda is. The only way not to fight him is for him to be your ally for
neatly the entire game.
_______
THE END
You saved the day and beat the crap out of Okoto's fiance, aren't you happy?
Now, when you head to Bunzo's enjoy the scene. Then, Bunzo will ask you
whether you want to stay or leave? Choose the correct answer and Tsuu will
get a nosebleed. Serves him right for becoming the BEEG BOSS everyone was
talking about.

(10. TIPS AND TRICKS)
 ===================
Just little tidbits that can help you out...
-Gambling is a good way to get a little extra money, just don't bet all your
money at one time.
-When you find that everyone seems to be attacking your ally, it's because
of who they are. Make Kunio the ally by switching and all the enemies will
come after you. It's a great way to build up an ally's stats. If that doesn't
work, he's screwed.
-SILK items the best in their class.
-Dashing attacks and attacks preformed in the air make the attack stronger.
-When you grab an enemy by the legs, you can press A while dashing near a
weapon like a boulder to deal damage to him. You pretty much just swing him
into a weapon.
-The bigger the weapon, the more it hurts.
-The smaller the weapon, the faster you use it.
-You can still hit an enemy that is using S. TORP (i.e. Tora).
-Attacking from ledges like in RCR is almost useless because enemies will
actually follow you.

IMPORTANT
It seems the only way to learn a Tech from a boss is to obtain enough money
to buy the Master Belt (it cost 3000 and can be found at the Kouzuke Secret
Shop 1). I'd start gambling and saving up if you want to learn the boss'
Tech, if they have one.
