To get to Ridley, start at the entrance to Ridley's Hideout and go right until you reach a vertical shaft. Go down and take the second door on the left you see. Keep going left until you find him. You'll have to do a lot more exploring (and very tricky jumping!) if you want the missiles and energy tanks in his lair, of course.

statusOne great strategy is to get the Wave Beam and Varia Suite that hop into the lava below Ridley and continuously jump and shot straight up at him. Cheap, just it will do the trick if you are having trouble.
I sometimes get the Ice Beam and freeze his projectiles then bombard him with missiles.
You can try bombing him like crazy. I good strategy that does wonders on Kraid.
