"A game that gets boring after the 12th phase"
Mario Bros. is a action game created by Nintendo. You play as Mario, the guy with the red hat and blue overalls. The second player plays as Luigi, Mario's brother.
Graphics - In the other Mario games, Mario and Luigi had brown hair. This time, Mario has blue hair and Luigi has green hair. Other than that, the graphics are decent.
Controls - It's pretty easy to control Mario. Press A to jump. Press left and right to move around.
Music - At the beginning of a phase, you will hear different themes. They sound funny. Two more themes are at the beginning of the game and when you lose. My favorite would have to be the beginning music. It sounds very uplifting.
Gameplay - This game takes place in a sewer, and Mario fights these strange enemies. You fight turtles, crabs, butterflies, and moving icicles and dodge green and red fireballs. To defeat these enemies, Mario must hit the floor below them with his head. The enemy will be flipped over for a while. Then, he must rush to the enemy and touch it to knock it out of the level. If it gets back up, it'll become more stronger. Another way to flip these pests is hitting the almighty pow block. This block will flip over all enemies on the sewer. The block is limited, though.
Those moving icicles can be threatening. If you don't kill them by hitting the floor below them, they'll explode and freeze the floor they were standing on. If you try running on the frozen floor, you'll start slipping everywhere.
There's a two player mode, which makes this game much more better. You can either cooperate or compete against each other. There's also two bonus levels in this game. You have to collect all the coins scattered around to win the bonus level.
Now, a huge problem in this game that it gets really boring after a while. After the twelfth phase, the game repeats itself. There are no more bonus levels either.
Difficulty - At the beginning, it's pretty simple. As you advance, it'll be difficult. Once you meet those crabs, you might have a tough time beating a group of them because you have to hit the crabs two times to flip them over.
There are also two modes to choose from. A mode is the regular mode, and B mode is the harder mode. When enemies are flipped over in B mode, they will get back up faster. Also, fireballs will appear faster in the level.
Overall - This game's average. Mario Bros. is nothing like Super Mario Bros., but you'll probably enjoy some of this game anyways. Have fun.
