The Addams Family: Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt
Review by AceUltraGamer
"Fun little platformer! Including killer rabbits, mazes made of giant books, and a million extra lives."
-------
Synopsis: The sequel to the first Addams Family game for the Nintendo. This time around, your Pugsley, and the plot is pretty similar. This game is more of a platform game with power-ups to help you and the levels and game is much longer.
-------
Graphics: They are better than the first Addams Family game, but still Nintendo. It doesn't stand out for being good but it's not bad either. The game was released when NES was on it's last legs, so considering how most of the games that came out then were for Super Nintendo, the graphics would be weak. But for NES, their average.
-------
Play Control: It's mostly the same as the first game, only it's 100 times easier. You don't die as much, and there are tons more lives and such in this game. You also get a few power-ups to help you, like one that makes you fly, for example. It's your normal platform game and that's it.
-------
Game Design: Not bad, though very unrealistic. A room such as the library consists of giant books, and most of the rooms are like that. Some long levels with lots of obstacles, but I felt it was pretty in depth for a Nintendo game. It gave you a bit of an adventurous feel with many corridors and such to go through, so I liked that about this game.
-------
Satisfaction: I was satisfied. Not the greatest game ever, a cheap platform game like many of the games back then, but it was fun, and actually made me want to complete the entire game, rather than quit after a few minutes, like some games. If one likes platform games, this is a good game to play.
-------
Sound: What sound? This is the game's biggest flaw, it completely lacks music. It's like an old arcade game where all you hear are blips and bleeps, except maybe the theme song and stuff at the beginning of the game. The game could use music. Then again, something tells me that the music would be annoying in this game if it existed, so maybe it's not so bad after all.
-------
Comments: It's a plus how many lives and stuff you can get in this game, and passwords too. Because of this, the game is not difficult to beat. So if your looking for an easy platform game to kill a few hours, this is it. It was all around fun, though typically corny compared to many other superb or modern games.
