Days of Thunder

"It's Craptacular!"

Graphics: 7: All the cars look nice and so does the track, and pitstop screen. You even get a little cinematic whenever you win, lose, or crash your car.

Sound: 6: You hear Thunderstrikes at the beginning of the game giving you a weird feel of the movie. The game makes a little use of voice(whenever you lose, the drivier say, "Nice Try Buddie") All the gameplay sound effects are average.

Gameplay: 5: Before you race with all the other cars on the circuit, you have to qualify before each race where you do a time trial where you have to beat a ceratin time to qualify for the race. After the races the game keeps track of the point leaders of the circut. Too bad there isn't any save feature because this game takes forever to play. The racing part was pretty hard because whenever you're going top speed and you had to take a turn your car would go crashing into the walls so you had to slowdown and all the other cars would pass you. Then when you'd pull in for a pitstop, it'd just take forever because you had to change your tires, repair your engine, and get more fuel, while all the other cars passed ahead of you, also none of the computer controlled cars never pulled in for a pitstop. You only raced against 7 other cars for a total of 8, but the leadrers board always showed about 24 racers on it. The best I've ever placed in a race was 7th. You'd have to be a master at this game to finish 1st.

Replay Value: 2: There was no save feature in the circuit mode and there was no 2-player mode as well. And there was no point in playing the game anyways because you usually finish in last place.

Overall: 4: Don't get this game. It has to be one of the crappiest racing games on the NES ever. I didn't even want this game.It was about 7 or 8 years ago when I was 9 or 10 and my dad came home from a rummage sale with an NES and this game. I probably ruined my NES controllers by throwing them on the ground too many times after getting frustrated by this game. Don't get this game!!!
