Review by RPG Monarch

"A difficult, long, and sometimes annoying, RPG"

Man, this game is hard to grade. It's difficulty and it's length are un-rivaled, and the fact that this game is very un-linear just adds to it's greatness as a RPG. So where do i start?

Graphics: 7

Nothin new here! Ultima Exodus has just about the same graphics, but the graphics aren't terrible...

Story: 10

The story is long and not linear, you choose what to do next! You can either collect the runes, face the dungeons, or build up your levels of virtue by doing good things. You must master all the virtues if wan't to become the Avatar.

Gameplay: 9

Like i said, this game is NOT easy! You will become frustrated, and stop playing it for a while. This is the kind of game that you can not play for more than 2-3 hours before going nuts! The herb system and the battles are great and your selection of characters is very large. There is only one flaw, I HATE MOONGATES!!! You have to use the moon to travel, and it gets VERY annoying.

Replay Value: 8

the only reason i'd play this game a number of times is to try out the vast number of characters. And that IS a good reason.

Overall: 9

Although the dungeons will rot your mind, it's fun to try and do everything. This game, if played in moderation, is one of the best NES rpgs ever!
