"The best game on NES...period"
Wow. All I can say is wow, what a game. This game is just so fun. All football games lack in comparison to this. Oh, did I mention this is my favorite NES game?
Graphics: The graphics are good, and the colors are nice. Each team's logo actually appears in this game, unlike it's preceeder Tecmo Bowl. See, Tecmo bowl didn't get a license from the NFL, where as Tecmo Super Bowl did. Erm, back to the graphics. The players are kinda small, but it's not a throwback.
Audio: Oh, how I love the music in this game. I could spend more time on the sound test than playing the game. There are different tunes for each type of play. During the regular season, the music is fun, but when the playoffs start, the tune changes to serious. It gives you a great feel of those winter classics. And who can forget the halftime song?
Gameplay: Does it get any better than this? The game moves quickly, as opposed to other nes football titles (10 yrd fight, nfl, j.e. qb club). Each team has 8 plays, 4 runs, and 4 passes. Each player has their own strengths and weaknesses. There are 3 modes of play: Preseason, Season, and pro bowl. The season mode is where the game shines. The game records all your stats, i.e. pass yards, rush yards, interceptions, I could go on all night, but you know. In the Pro Bowl, you can select the members from each conference from the teams. Preseason is just preseason. Two teams square off in a brutal deathmatch. There are a few flaws in the game though. One being when a football goes into the endzone on a punt, its an automatic touchback. But don't let that stop you.

Closing: Go out and buy this game. You won't disapointed. The replay value is great, if not the best on NES. Once you get really good at this game, take the Colts through season mode for a real challenge. If you are deciding between Tecmo Bowl and Tecmo Super Bowl, defenitely get TSB. It's about 19 times better. Until next time, happy tsb'ing
