"Great movie, and one great, but hard, game!"

Story line: 9

Just like the movie. Your goal is to rack up points, try to win, and top in the Winston Cup Points Standings. Some races you do twice, but still they get harder.

Graphics: 7

You don't get much detail while you are out on the track but when you pull into your pit, all of it shows. The 46 City Chevrolet sponsor is clearly readable. When Cole shows up at the track on his bike, those are fairly great graphics also.
When you burn out to leave the pit, don't you just love the skid marks left behind?

Sound: 7

There is some speech in this game. ''Start your engines'', ''Nice try buddy'', that's pretty much it. The sound of the car is pretty sweet. And when you get your tires changed, the air guns sound cool too. The only time you get to hear music is at the beginning of the game, in the pit, and at the end.
When you leave the pit, you BURN OUT!

Gameplay: 8
You really have to master the art of braking in this game. As your tires wear down (right sides wear first) your car's turning ability gets worse. You have to brake enough to get around the turns. Passing is nearly impossible. The lead car is always cutting you off.. In fact it is almost impossible to pass the lead car. When the time comes to pit you are treated to an over-head view of your pit area. In this mode you get to control your crew members. This is where your skills pay off. Make a 25 second pit stop and you will be lucky to lose 2 spots. When you pit in first, odds are you will come out in third or fifth, so plan wisely. To make this game even more difficult, the comp. doesn't bother to pit. So you have to choose which laps to pit. You also have to choose whether to change 2 or 4 tires. Even, just gas and go.

Replay: 8

If you were really bad at the first time you played, odds are you will play this game until you get every skill down pat. It took me 7 years to make it through one WHOLE season with out cheating.

Rating: 7.8

If you want a challenge for NINTENDO, buy this game, it is about a buck or less now. You might get hooked until you beat it. Using codes after you beat the game makes the game even harder.
