"Nyuck, Nyuck, Nyuck! Good 10-Minute Break for fun."
Now, I remember playing this game WAAAAAY back when. It was a bit of a surprise when they told you the objective of the game. I'll go into more detail on that later. OK, here goes nothin'.
Graphics- B+ Well, I can't say these graphics are amazing, yet I cannot say they are horrific. However, I can say they are above average. A bit choppy at some parts, this game has the classic NES graphics with more. The Three Stooges themselves are pretty good, along with the graphics. I give it a B+, case closed.
Audio- C-
Eeeeew, nasty! The sound is pretty bad (that is when they try to talk). The music is good though. I had one tune stuck in my head for at least a few weeks. That's a good thing in this situation. The sound effects are alright too, I guess. There are good and bad things about this. Some of the sound effects are good, others not so good. It equals to about average. With only a few good parts in the audio department, I give it a low C.
GamePlay/Replay- B
Hmmmmm. What is better than throwing pies at people with suits on? Well, a few things. But there are three letters to really describe this. F-U-N. The replay is a whole other story. You can pick up this game anytime if you want a 10-minute break of fun (hence the title) Even I sometimes take a trip down memory lane and bust out the good ol' NES. Ahhh...the memories. Anyway, I give both an overall rating of a plain old B. Not a B-, not a B+, just a B.
Plot/Story- D
Heh heh. I said before that I'd get deeper into this. The whole story behind this is that you are supposed to help a charity get a million bucks. If you don't think that's gonna be hard, here's the kicker. There are only a few different jobs you can do, and the highest amount of money I've gotten was about 5 grand. I'm a bit fuzzy, but I think that's right. Now try and picture this. You'd probably have to spend a few hours to get to $800,000. You'll be staring at the screen and wind up with 50 broken controllers. It's not good for you to be there trying to get a million dollars. It just isn't right. If you've already beaten it, that's plain amazing. It was a good try though for the developers. They just didn't make it that great. I feel bad giving it a D, but, it is what it deserves.
Controls-A
Now for the boring part of the review. There isn't much to it. A and B, Select and Start. A and B do different things depending on the way to earn money. Select, I don't think it does anything. Start just confirms everything needed to be confirmed. There really isn't much to say on this matter. I give it an A, that's all.
Camera-A
There camera is the same throughout the whole game, nothing special. The only thing is that sometimes they split-screen it. Otherwise, the camera is behind the Three Stooges the whole game. Not much to say about this either. I'd have to give it an A because I don't think it's bad at all.
Buy, Rent, or Not- Rent
I doubt you'll be able to rent this game, let alone rent an NES if you don't have one. Rent it. You'll never play it enough to buy it. Especially with all the next-gen systems there are now. The game is good for a fun time, that's all you'll get out of it. It is not worth buying. Back then I probably would of said to buy it, but the times have changed.
