"Not the worst...but certainly not the best either."

Intro
Now for my one-hundred-sixty-somethingth review. It's for a game called P'radikus Conflict, which was not licensed by Nintendo incidentally. It's just your average space shooter, but it gets rather boring. Read on to learn why.
P'radikus Conflict plays a lot like Asteroids, in that your ship is at the center of the screen and the other ships try to approach you. You blow 'em up. Unfortunately, this game isn't quite as fun, since for one...
Gameplay 5-10. Well, I just described it for you. You're in the center of the screen and the other ships will fly towards you and try to kill you. Like Fantasy Zone, you collect money to buy stuff, usually better ships and weapons. Unlike FZ however, in this game it takes way too long.
Control? Your ship is very slow and unresponsive. Even so, the enemy bullets are slower and easy to avoid if one knows how to do so. Your bullets are much faster and therefore you could just stay in one place and blow up anything that comes too close to you. Now, let's examine...
Audio 4-10. There's an introductory jingle, but that's just about it. There's a sound for your thrusters and stuff, a sound for your weapons and a few other sounds, like when an enemy hits your ship. It's not the worst, but it's certainly not the best either. Some of you may want to play with the volume down.
Story 5-10. Contrary to popular belief, this game does have a story, all be it a weak one. You are a pilot of a spacecraft sent to destroy the armies of the P'radikan Empire. It's nothing new or innovative, and the other categories I.E. control, gameplay and audio make this very bland...to say the least.
Overall 5-10. Get this game if you really want to try it, but I'd advise renting it. That way you can get rid of it if it doesn't satisfy you. Chances are it won't, but you never know until you try. Still, with rather unpredictable controls, boring gameplay and bland audio, it hasn't got much going for it, and setting that aside, the story doesn't exactly pump you up either. Get...let's say Zanac instead. At least that game had some innovation. I mean, the level of difficulty depended almost entirely on the savagery of the player. Well, this isn't a review for Zanac. It's a review for P'radikus Conflict. My point is, rent it or borrow it before you rush out and buy it. As I've said in other reviews, nothing pisses me off more than spending a lot of money on a game and discovering I loathe it.
