Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Review by SnakeEyes1215
"A Great Classic!!!"
This game is excellent. The gears turn, the lights flash, it's great! My only problem with it is it's controls and difficulty. It's the best game out of the three which were released for the NES. Although, this game is a bit different from the other two. Any way, onward to the review!
Sound: 9
No complaints here. Nice, catchy rhythmic tunes that get stuck in your head over and over again. Although they do get a bit repetitive, they sound wonderful! Sounds were just plain flat out great.
Controls: 6
Sadly enough, the controls are sub-par. They would've been great had the stupid jump been more stable. Controlling your character while jumping is almost impossible! Also, you walk incredibly slow! The attacking controls are decent though. Too bad, this game would have been even better if these problems were fixed.
Graphics: 9
Not much to say here. It's an NES game for Pete's sake! The colors are vibrant, the short cut scenes are detailed, you can't go wrong. Graphics are wonderful.
Gameplay: 10
Huge points here! If I could give it anything higher tan 10, I would give this an 11! I cannot get enough of this game! You'll find yourself duking it out with Shredder and the Foot Clan for hours upon hours! So many levels, so little time. You have four different characters to choose from (Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Donnatello). The great thing is, you can change characters in the midst of a battle, which is useful since each character has their own advantage. Again, it's the best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game for the NES. Beyond-belief gameplay!
Difficulty: 9
Yes, the game is difficult, but I love a good challenge! It's hard without the side-effects like getting boring and the such. It takes skill and practice to get this one beaten.
Overall: 9
A must-buy, especially for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans! If you can look past the difficulty if the game like I did, the only problem is the control. None the less, it is a superb game. You can pick up a copy of this game online or at used game store. It should be mega cheap, so even if by some odd reason you don't like the game, you would have only wasted like five bucks MAX. Just to let you know how much I like this game, four years (I believe) after buying the game I still find myself popping this cartridge in my NES. One of my all-time FAVORITES!
