"Soccer done right! on the NES"

I only wish that more sports games on the NES were this fun.

Graphics
Not bad for being a 1988 NES game. everything is nicely colored from the playing field to the players. even though the players all look the same(just different skin and uniform colors and some players have different facial expressions) but it's good enough so that you can tell your player from the rest.

Sound
Unlike most NES games made around this time, the sound of this cart is pretty decent. with a nice intro and enough little sound effects during the game to keep you from putting your TV on mute.

Control
Easy, quick, and responsive. the control in this game is quite good. passing, kicking..it's all done right(you might be think how could you go wrong with the NES controller) somehow some game developers found a way to make even playing with the NES controller hard. but none of that here.

Gameplay
The complexity(is that even a word?) of Soccer made easy in this game. but that dosen't stop the game from being fun. theres even cool special moves you can pull off. the game overall is pretty easy to get into and thats good. Hardcore Soccer fans might be dissapointed but most people(even ones that don't like Soccer in general) will have fun with this game. you start the game by taking your team all over the world defeating rival teams from all over the globe. this starts out wickedly easy. but gets harder as you go along. the AI is decent in the game(nothing like the cheap Super Spike 'V' Ball AI) but thats a different subject altogether. games are soposed to be fun. and thats exactly what this game is.

Final Comments
Great game worth picking up, even more worth it if you find the cart with World cup Soccer and Super Spike 'V' Ball(though Super Spike is nothing compared to WCS). the game has good replay value and can take awhile to beat depending on how long at a time you play. also the game is much better if you have a friend to play along with you. but either way the game is fun to play.
