"Just hanging around..."

At first, Bionic Commando may look like your standard action game or shooter, but as you play, you will see things that make this a unique title that I guarantee you will like.

Story
This is the sequel to the game Commando, starring Super Joe. In this adventure, Super Joe sets out to eliminate the albatross project, led by Generalissimo Killt. Unfortunately, he becomes a POW and Ladd (the Bionic Commando and our hero) has to go out to save him and destroy the project.

Gameplay
Like I said, BC (Bionic Commando) looks like your standard action game, but it is much more. For one thing, you can't jump! So what is a hero to do? He uses a bionic arm, that's what he does! This arm is a grappling hook that Ladd can use to grab on to any wall or ceiling and swing or pull himself up. You might be erratic at first, but you will catch on to this concept early. Also, there are three modes of gameplay: the regular side scrolling parts when you are in any of the numbered areas, the helicopter mode which is nothing more than transport from place to place on the map, and an overhead portion that looks like the original Commando. Finally, the communicators that are used in the comm rooms unravel the story and tells you more about your mission. Don't forget to use the right communicator, or else you will not get the message and will have to start the level over!

Graphics
The graphics are pretty good for a 1987 Nintendo videogame. The faces that show up when you are talking to someone are quite detailed.

Sounds/Music
I liked the music in this game. They are very catchy and fit the levels. The bionic arm makes a cool sound when unleashed.

Replayability
I don't believe in repalyability in a video game, but if there was a video game I want to play again and again, I would play Bionic Commando.

Overall
Bionic Commando is one of my favorites and has a great gameplay. This is a must play.

The Good
-The grappling hook is off da hook
-Catchy music
-Great gameplay
-One of my favorites

The Bad
Nothing much, really

The Ugly
-''Master D'' (say, he looks kinda familiar, doesn't he...)

You should get this game if you are building up a classic gaming collection, and if you get stuck, press a, b and start simultaneously... whoooooooooo!
